With two weeks to go before the network upfronts, we have some long-awaited and sad news regarding the fate of CW’s Gilmore Girls.
The CW has released a joint statement from the network and Warner Bros. Television that says “Announcing the final season of Gilmore Girls is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television’s most memorable, lovable characters. We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and Gilmore fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves.”
Rumors have gone back and forth for months on whether an agreement could be reached with key cast members so that Gilmore Girls could return for another season. There was even a rumor earlier today that negotiations had stalled and it looked unlikely that they would resume. It appears that rumor was true.
Once sure that the series was not returning, CW likely wanted to announce the news immediately so that viewers would be more likely to tune in to watch the final two episodes.
Will the series finale on May 15th be a fulfilling way to close the series? Does this ensure that CW’s Veronica Mars will be renewed? Stay tuned!

I’m from Germany so I happen to just have seen the final episodes… This is so disapointing and so evil to all the fans! We’ve stayed tune for 7 years now and really felt GG to be part of our lives. The fans deserved a satisfying ending. But now? Rory has a crappy job at an onineMag, Logan is gone for no reason (that doesn’t fit Rorys character at all…) and Loreley still hasn’t learned to “communicate” (most of her relationships broke up because she had stupid secrets). There was NO character development at all! At this state – without Loreley (and Luke) have actually changed, one can imagine them to break up soon again…
It would have been so easy to do a proper ending (without being “schmaltzy”), but in my case the last two episodes of all the seven seasons ruined it all. I even don’t like the 2 girls anymore. In the past I loved viewing all DVDs out of my GG collection but now they only make me angry and even the older episodes are ruined because of the crappy ending.

as many others, I’m disappointed. The ending doesn’t fit. We watched Rory develop and now we know nothing about her. We don’t know anything about Luke and Lorelay, they just kissed and…?
I loved the series, but the end just isn’t worth it. They deserve better.
Maybe you just wait whether Obama makes ist and then go on when Rory comes back.
Whatever you do, just do it and don’t leave us faithfull fans with that crap of an ending.

I’m very disappointed in the final episode of Gilmore Girls…they left Laurali and Rory’s character completely hanging. What happened with Logan and Rory? Was that it, Logan just leaves? You can’t do that, its not fair, Gilmore Girls never just ends like that. And are Laurali and Luke together or apart? This isn’t fair I need to know what happens next…PLEASE DO A SEASON 8!!

I was looking so forward to having another season with one of my favourite shows. I would like to see Rory settled I think with Jess – they have similar interests with writing etc., and of course Lorali with Luke and seeing her relationships with both her mother and luke develop into wonderfully happy times. Have one – one hour finally closing tieing up all the characters lives – it would be wonderful having closure that puts things in the right order for the viewers.. thanks for having me vent my concerns and feelings.
Hey, I love Gilmore Girls and I am soooooooooooo disapointed that there is not going to be a season 8!! I would have loved for their journeys to continue. For me, when I watch it, its like entering another family’s lives. I just really hope they bring a season 8 to Australia — they have soooo many fans here, they can’t leave us hanging on the season 7 ending!!!!!!!
i cant believe that gilmore girls has ended, hey i’m from st. martin ( thats in the caribbean) and its rare to find us down here caught up in shows like that, but i LOVE it am really saddens me to say good bye to the girls. i’m wishin for some kind of miracle, that would bring a season 8 of the best show eva.

Iam more than upset that the Gilmore Girls have ended. I was hoping to see Loreli and Luck Danes fet together. I was hoping Rory would go back to Logan. It’s not far they left us hanging on season 7.I really hope there eill be a season 8 and so forth please think about it.

I really really want there to be a season 8 0f Gilmore Girls it is the only show that i recored when i am at school and watch it when i come home. I really think that it is quite wrong that they left us all hanging to see what happenes between Loreli and Luck. and i really really want Rory and Logen to get back to gether they are ment to be. Season 8 will probably be the best season ever because people have waited for ages so they will get loads of views and people will just like love it to see what happenes between like everyone. OMG please pretty please can you have a season 8 !!!!!!

ive been watching gilmore girls on e4 and me and my mate are hooked on it. i only found out yesterday that season seven the end, ive got 13 episodes left and im gutted!
