HawthoRNe: Cast Reacts to TV Show Cancellation

HawthoRNe canceledIn case you haven’t heard, TNT has cancelled HawthoRNe after three seasons on the air. The medical drama ran for 30 episodes total, from June 2009 until August 2011. HawthoRNe’s ratings started out strong but dipped each season. It was the lowest-rated drama on TNT this summer except for Men of a Certain Age, a drama that was cancelled after two seasons on the air.

Series star Jada Pinkett Smith broke the news to her fans by writing, “Hey everyone…if you don’t know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season. I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our facebook fans…twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!”

Following a steamy scene between Smith and costar Marc Anthony, there were rumors that the two were having an affair. Supposedly, she and her husband, Will Smith, were also splitting up. The Smiths issued a statement last week that addressed the rumors, “Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”

Vanessa Lengies (CNO Kelly Epson) sympathized with HawthoRNe fans who were sad about the show’s demise and tweeted, “Loyal HawthoRNe followers, u know if it was up 2 me I would play Kelly 4 you til you asked me 2 stop.” She also posted a few backstage photos of herself and the cast.

Aisha Hinds (Isabel Walsh) was upset by the cancellation news and wrote, “:-( Boooo!!! Love my HawthoRNe Family!”

What do you think? Are sorry to see the TV series end? Could HawthoRNe have been saved?

Just got done with a Netflix marathon of this show. LOVED IT! Hated to see it end so quickly. =( I loved the old “ER” show when I was younger and this was a revamped version. Great job, guys. Two thumbs up.

I cant believe they cancelled this show. I watched all three season in three days. Got ready to watch season 4 and nothing!! Who disappoints fans like that. Just leaves everything Open Ended. The show wass really good. I guess if its not reality TV, or talking about sex, drugs and the fast life…it has to go. To me, that was a modern day ER which lasted for years. I suggest bringing the show back!!

This was a very good series, and i am not surprised it cancelled, people don’t want to watch shows that are fairly clean and non violent. Every show we have watched of this same caliber always cancels. This had just enough of everything to make it nice to watch. Although it did start to get a little promiscuous and I was hoping it wasn’t going to get any worse. I would like to see the series continue!

Just breaks my heart that there will not be another season. Sucks where we were left… in the middle of the dark street with blood everywhere and Christina screaming.
I just did a marathon this weekend from Saturday till Sunday night watching every season from the beginning. I went to Google to see when season 4 was to start, and to my horror… there is no more. WOW!!!!

Bites hard. As a nurse for 22 years it was a wonderful show to watch.

Me too. I just did a BING search to find out there was no season 4. I was anxious to see what happened next. I disagree with critics that the show was boring. It was eventful episode after episode. Just because they did not agree with the story line does not mean you snip it. I say bring it back!!

I’m a new but late fan of the show. The show is on Netflix and I’m enjoying every episode. Sad to read the show was canceled! Thank you Jada and Hawthorne cast for the 30 episodes. Great drama.

I was a big fan my roommate and I watched this show and were bummed to see it end. I fell in love with couple Christian and Tom! I had the next season all written out for those two. Especially when Mark Anthony’s character died I was all set to see Christina and Tom pull through and try and have another baby or at least adopt.
Sincerely,
Still Bummed out Fan!
