Storms, they can come back, can’t they? The Prison Break TV show revival on FOX, starring Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Sarah Wayne Callies is a limited “event” series, topping off with nine episodes. A sixth and future seasons of Prison Break could be possible though, according to the verified Twitter account of the Prison Break writers room. Check out the tweets, after the jump.

The original team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein, and Dawn Olmstead are executive producing the Prison Break revival. Scheuring is serving as showrunner/writer.
When a fan asked if there could be more episodes, the Prison Break writers room account responded, “For this season, 9 is the final number, but we’ve packed a lot of awesome in those 9 eps.”

A fan then asked if there would be room for a sixth season, saying, “@PBWritersRoom You said earlier that you know how the season ends. Will there be room for a season 6 should we rock the Nielsen ratings?”

The Prison Breaks writers answered, “We have an ending to the story, but there are always new stories to tell in this world if the demand is there.”

The original Prison Break TV show followed Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) determined to prove his convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is innocent, and save him from death row. To that end, Michael gets himself imprisoned with Lincoln. From there he hatches an elaborate escape plan.

I would absolutely love to see “Prison Break” renewed. This show is Fantastic! The actors are great and are a great compliment to each other also. I love the action and the twisting and turning, you never know what’s going to happen next. I only wish there were more episodes in the season like there were in the first 4 seasons. So many loved watching a series when a series was more than 10-13 shows and as much playing time for commercials as the show. “Prison Break” is the best show ever i would love for this series to continue this is an awesome show i never have missed an episode and still wont and i own seasons 1-4 and the final break and cant wait to own season 5 i hope there is a 6th season and more writers of this show are very smart to make such a fantastic show im sure the writers can come up with more and not let the “Prison Break” fans down especially a die hard “Prison Break” fan like myself i own all seasons and final break… Read more »
For me, prison break is a greatest series ever. The way Schofield escapes in season 3 from Panama is literally awesome. I do not want the directors/writers to end this series at all.
There’s no other serie can reach where prison break hits I love it and I watched it for me than 10times I can’t wait for next episode am now watching previous ones such that by the time of new one is coming in April I will be ready there

This show should honestly never end. It has an amazing story line, hope, forgiveness, power, and love. Love for family, as Michael does for his child, his child’s mother and his brother. He has helped everyone he has ever known and in season 5, it’s their turn to help him. Producers, hit me up because if you don’t have any ideas for maybe season 6 and on, I’ll give you one! Don’t let this show end!!!

I think it’s disappointing to bring it back with knowing it;s only 1 season. There is a serious need for truly good t.v. shows. I am a binge watcher of a lot of different types of shows and continually watch the new epis. as they come out. It’s an awesome show with great actors I believe at least 5-6 more years would be exciting. i only got to see a few ep. so I enjoy the fact I have a new series to binge 4 seasons at one time. So hopefully they decide to keep it going for a while.
I agree 100% I remembered watching this show on TV when I was only 10 years old. Being that age I couldn’t really interpret what was going on, neither could I pay anymore attention than 5 minutes. I recently saw it on Netflix and I binge watched seasons 1-3 in less than a week and I’m on season 4 now. I know what happens at the end but knowing that Michael ends up alive will help me through that emotional pain of when he “dies”. But I would also love to see a few more years of this show. As the quoted fan, I really would like to see a season 6. I’ve been binging on my DVDs seasons 1-4. I love that social media gives us insight into the process of this show. I am one of those who sits through the commentaries on the DVDs.
