Scalped is just one of the new drama pilots in development for WGN America, according to TV Insider. The series is a based on a graphic novel series from DC’s Vertigo imprint. Sixty issues of the graphic novel were published between 2007 and 2012.
TV Insider revealed that the series is “set inside a fictional Native American reservation in South Dakota. The project, described as a modern-day crime story, ‘explores power, loyalty, and spirituality in a community led by the ambitious Chief Lincoln Red Crow, as he reckons with Dashiell Bad Horse who has returned home after years away from the reservation.’”
Doug Jung, who has worked on Big Love and Banshee, will write and executive produce the pilot. Geoff Johns from DC Entertainment will co-executive produce.
Did you read the Scalped graphic novel series? Will you check out the series if it comes to WGN? Tell us what you think.
This has been my favorite comic series since the beginning. If they stay true to the story, nothing else on television could halfway match this.
This sounds pretty good. Finally a show w/Native Americans as the focus.
