It’s adiós for another NBC comedy. The network has cancelled Telenovela after one season, The Wrap reports.
The sitcom starred Eva Longoria as Ana Sofia Calderon, the star of a Spanish-language soap opera who does not actually speak Spanish. Jencarlos Canela, Diana Maria Riva, Jose Moreno Brooks, Alex Meneses, Amaury Nolasco, Jadyn Douglas, Izzy Diaz, and Juan Carlos Cantu also starred.
Telenovela premiered to decent ratings, but they continued to drop over the course of its first season, which ended in February. The series received an average rating of .95 in the 18-49 demo and a total of 3.448 million viewers.
Today, we reported NBC has also cancelled the freshman sitcom Crowded and the medical drama Heartbeat.
What do you think? Did you watch Telenovela? Do you think it should’ve been renewed?
I loved telenovella. It was a great, fun show to watch for some light relief. Please bring it back!!
