What’s This TV Show About?
A Syfy science-fiction mystery, 12 Monkeys stars Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, Todd Stashwick, Emily Hampshire, and Barbara Sukowa. The drama series follows James Cole (Stanford), a man from 2043, who is sent back in time to stop the evil Army of the 12 Monkeys from destroying the world. Christopher Lloyd guest stars in the third season as charismatic cult leader Zalmon Shaw, with Hannah Waddingham, Faran Tahir, and James Callis recurring.
Season Three Ratings
Airing over three nights, the third season of 12 Monkeys averaged a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 346,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 25% and down by 14%, respectively. Find out how 12 Monkeys stacks up against the other Syfy TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Because 12 Monkeys was renewed for a fourth and final season, back in March, odds are season four will make it to air. Still, I’m keeping an eye on this show. Remember how HBO renewed Vinyl for a second season in February of 2016, but by June that renewal turned into a cancellation? The same thing happened to The Brink, in 2015. And in February of 2014, Jay Leno appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show to help announce the syndicated series was renewed for season two, yet by May of that year, it too was cancelled.
Since Syfy has decided to air the entire 10-episode third season over three consecutive nights, it seems like they’re giving up on the meager live ratings. I’m sure they’ll air a fourth season of 12 Monkeys and may even try another scheduling stunt. Subscribe for free updates on all cancellation and renewal news.

Every season has made me hungry for the next season. If season 4 is the final season I hope the story ends clearly. The cast is better than FANTASTIC!!! Thanks for the emotional roller coaster ride. Please do a season 5!!!

Well, I hope they bring back Ramse! I nearly flipped my sh*t when Cole killed him. He was my favorite.. Even though he f*cked up and acted selfishly, I still liked him and was glad he finally came around. He was also the hottest guy in the show 🙁 🙁
Syfy knew the ratings for a binge event over the weekend were going to be ****. They also already RENEWED the show for a fourth season the same time they announced the binge event for season 3.
very happy “12 monkeys” is coming back for season 4. also the poor ratings were probably due to the fact that most people including me recorded all 10 shows to watch at their leisure
