The Bible mini-series was a big ratings success for the History channel. Will the follow-up AD: The Bible Continues be a hit for NBC? Will the network want another Bible-related mini-series? If it flops, could they pull this one off the air? Stay tuned.
The AD: The Bible Continues mini-series tells the tale of the later chapters of biblical history (following the Crucifixion of Christ). It focuses on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest. The cast includes Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Levy, Richard Coyle, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jodhi May, Joanne Whalley, Ken Bones, Kevin Doyle, Helen Daniels, and Fraser Ayers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/3 update: NBC has cancelled the series. They won’t air a second season but…
Final season averages: 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.41 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the AD: The Bible Continues mini-series? Would you like to see another Bible-related mini-series on NBC?
I love the show and my Lord Jesus! I just wish the show had more happiness.
The show is very refreshing. NO OTHER SHOW ON OF ITS KIND. NBC would be blessed to let this show run another season before making a decision. No one was there for the true story, so this “thought” is pure in intent. Thank you for a show without a drama of sex, lies, violence, blah..blah..blah. Entertaining and rewarding in a spiritual way.
Thank You NBC for having a show like no other at this time.
Are you kidding? No violence? There’s violence all throughout this show. And lots of sex, lies, etc. These things are in the bible, but not what they are showing on this series. The man falling on his sword for Caligula finally convinced me to stop watching.
Please continue for a Season 2!
I don’t have cable right now, but I’m really blessed by this show and watch it on nbc’s website!!! Really blessed, I pray they keep making it and other shows like this! GLORY TO GOD IN AND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!!!
LOVE the show – watched THE BIBLE when it was on and this is a natural transition. Very well done and the best show on TV as far as I am concerned. NOT very happy to see the drop in viewers or the ratings….. something is definately askew noting all the above comments. I also believe that we need MORE shows based on the BIBLE, GOD and Jesus Christ. We need to get back to our basics for we have strayed so far away.
Not biblically acurate
To much feminism
I agree! I understand that they have to take artistic liberties but this is just too much. I had the same problem with the Bible that was on the History Channel, which was done by the same producers, but this is much worse. Obviously they are more interested in ratings and money.
A.D. The Bible Continues is fantastic and the only program I watch EVERY week.
I am enjoying the series, as it is geared toward a deeper dive into the Bible. A lot of people will do the crucifixion story because it’s popular. However, it takes someone who wants more than ratings to back something that may not be popular.
Refreshing story told from Biblical perspective and is a great alternative to all the drug stories and would like to see it continue next season!
This show is great love watching it every sunday. I think nbc purposely doesn’t show commercials to sabatage the show, because they are liberal anti God channel
My husband and I love the series. Please keep it on the air. We look forward to watching it every Sun. It’s our favorite show on tv/cable. My Mom & Dad also like the show and watch it. I like all the drama, action & suspense and can’t wait for next episode to air. It’s one of the best shows on TV. I even read my bible to find out what is going to happen or if that scene is in the bible. I will miss my show when the series is over. Plus, I will be sad if the… Read more »
BEST SHOW ON TV.
Please do not cancel this !!!
I love how it brings the Bible to life.
A fun way to learn.
DO NOT CANCEL !!!!!
DO NOT CANCELL!!!!
Christians are there own worse enemies.
Ministers should be promoting this series and their congregations watching it
If they think license was taken beyond the bible or the historical record, then use it as a teaching tool
There’s too many forces aligning against Christianity-just getting this well made series slotted on a major network is half a miracle
Christian churches need to get behind this or don’t complain when counterculture trash in the media eclipses Christian based programming.
I agree. So many of us spend hours watching shows that do not have good moral
Yes. NBC please give this series a chance to find its audience. While it may take longer than you prefer, I am sure you have a winner on your hands, and as a result you will be rewarded for your patience. And lastly, don’t forget this type of series appeals to an advertising prospect that you normally couldn’t/wouldn’t approach. Thus, in that sense it offers a different type of value. Patience.
Yes, please continue and build on this series. To see the bible brought to life on NBC is a blessing to our country. I pray that all people of faith rally around this type of programming. Thank you NBC!
Awesome. . AD The Bible Continues
KJV
JOHN 14 : 6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come unto the Father except by me, Jesus Christ.
1 CORINTHIANS 1 : 18 For the preaching of the cross is to those who perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
I love you Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour
God Bless You!
