The Bible mini-series was a big ratings success for the History channel. Will the follow-up AD: The Bible Continues be a hit for NBC? Will the network want another Bible-related mini-series? If it flops, could they pull this one off the air? Stay tuned.
The AD: The Bible Continues mini-series tells the tale of the later chapters of biblical history (following the Crucifixion of Christ). It focuses on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest. The cast includes Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Levy, Richard Coyle, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jodhi May, Joanne Whalley, Ken Bones, Kevin Doyle, Helen Daniels, and Fraser Ayers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/3 update: NBC has cancelled the series. They won’t air a second season but…
Final season averages: 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.41 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the AD: The Bible Continues mini-series? Would you like to see another Bible-related mini-series on NBC?
The A.D series is very good. I hope it continues.
I love A.D. The Bible Continues! I would love to see a new season come on soon! And any other Bible related shows or movies would be great!!
I would love to see a second series and would be very disappointed if there is not a series. I thought it was very powerful and interesting series.
Loved the series I hope another Bible mini series is in the works.
I thought that the series was awesome! It’s not often that biblical principles or exploration of history through the lens of spirituality is explored in the secular world. We live in a culture that values sex, money, and stuff to numb us (drinking, pills). Our culture has lowered its standards morally, intellectually, spiritually… Though, yea there where some inaccuracies, I think it’s INCREDIBLE that this is on a main stream network and out there in our culture.
Great series, Can’t wait for season 2 !
I hope this mini series continues. I loved it. The actors were really good in their rolls, especially Adam Levy as Peter.
I can’t believe the finale of A. D., the Bible continues. I have watched every episode. What is going to happen to Peter. You can’t let us hang. You definitely need to continue this mini series. I want to know what happens next.
I enjoy AD but I wish the ending was a little better.God bless the writers.
I love this show. Please renew, we need Jesus in our lives and if more people watch this, I believe it will help everyone
I watched all of the Bible series and was very impressed so I was really anxious to see the new AD Bible continues. I have watched each episode but have been very disappointed. The casting is just terrible. Mary looks old enough to be the grandmother of Jesus instead of his mother. What’s the purpose of making the apostles race different than the reality? Stick to the real facts and you will have a better following.
You interrupt too much with COMMERCIALS. We aren’t here to be consumers of goods or services for sale.
Agreed!! 5-10 minutes of program then 5 min. of commercials? They all blur into each other so I can’t remember any of them.
I’d watch a second series. There is not a lot on TV worth watching. I’d rather discuss some inaccuracies with family than try to explain some of the other shows you see these days.
I’d watch a second series. There’s not a lot wo
Not Biblically accurate. I was very disappointed at the distortions and just out-right fiction written into the story. If you want the true story, you will have to read the Book.
I agree. The essence of the spirit is present, but they need to stop making things up. For example: Joanna is never mentioned for being killed by Pilate. Tabitha was never disclosed as being flogged by Pilate. I know Hollywood is in it for the money, but lets be reasonable.
I took these horrible events [of course they were fiction] as motivations for Cornelius’s repentance and conversion.
And Pilate was considered too brutal, even for Emperor Tiberius, so he was recalled after a 10-year term of office.
But why did the story leave us hanging as it did last night?
The books of Acts is 28 chapters the series only covers more then 50% so their is more to tell. Their is no replacing reading the bible from cover to cover. You be amazed what you learn. It was a great series, will they continue well it did not do well in the ratings so I hope they find a way to continue and yes the disciples will give their life for Jesus expect for John who will live in excile. God Bless…
There are Paul’s journeys, shipwreck and fate still to go. There is enough material from Acts yet to show us and some of the facts are more exciting than the fiction.
I am sure Claudia will become a Christian in spite of her overbearing husband. She’s been a strong character so far. Maybe she, Cornelius and family will be connected in some way….
A wonderful, well-produced series – – – I look forward with anticipation to the next series – – – this was too short – – – – would liked to have seen less commercials – – – – – – instead of a 1 hour program, perhaps 2 hours at a time – – – – would certainly watch it on cable if offerd on the channels that I carry – – – –
