The Bible mini-series was a big ratings success for the History channel. Will the follow-up AD: The Bible Continues be a hit for NBC? Will the network want another Bible-related mini-series? If it flops, could they pull this one off the air? Stay tuned.
The AD: The Bible Continues mini-series tells the tale of the later chapters of biblical history (following the Crucifixion of Christ). It focuses on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest. The cast includes Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Levy, Richard Coyle, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jodhi May, Joanne Whalley, Ken Bones, Kevin Doyle, Helen Daniels, and Fraser Ayers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/3 update: NBC has cancelled the series. They won’t air a second season but…
Final season averages: 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.41 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the AD: The Bible Continues mini-series? Would you like to see another Bible-related mini-series on NBC?
It would be a drastic shame to remove this wonderful mini series. I watch it faithfully each Sunday and count the days for it’s return. Our country was based on “In GOD we Trust”. today’s culture in this America has fallen by the wayside.Morals are gone, sex is free, strong language is rampant. Crime is high. So now because we have something on TV that is clean and GOD based you want to remove it. Who cares about just the rating’s. You know what? I hate to be at your end and remove it. With a Just God he will… Read more »
Loved Bible AD . Looked forward to it each week. It brought the Bible to life for me.
The whole Series was perfection. Definitely want more..
Please renew it. There is so much more to tell. The second series could have more drama than the first.
great show would like to see how it ends !!!!
I absolutely loved AD The Bible Continues. I’ve planned to stay home on Sunday nights just to watch!
I very rarely watch TV because I don’t find it entertaining. AD the Bible Continues has been most enjoyable! I loved the content and the acting was superb! I would love to watch more of this! Thank you for airing something worth watching!
loved the show. Yes we need more like this. We need more shows that show the true values in life.
18-49 seriously?
What about the rest of the world that watches television?
The networks don’t have a clue. They just keep producing nonsensical shows that are useless and silly.
Enjoyed the series. Yes more episodes are needed to concluded Acts. Believing it will be renewed. Of course we know conclusion is believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior however the unbeliever needs a answer.
Please renew it!!!!!!
I love it! It truly brings to life the origin of our Faith! Thank you! I can’t wait to see Season Three.
Yes, I would like to see it renewed.
I enjoyed the Bible AD, I think what may have drawn viewers away was the amount of commercials. I kniw they are sponsors and it did not draw me from enjoying the mini series, it did others from people I talked with. I would live to see the next series, a next, next….
I have thoroughly enjoyed the show and would definitely watch a second season. I would also like to see The Bible again.
Absolutely YES!!!
Really the best thing I have ever watched on TV. For non-Christians, its a wonderful history lesson that shows the power struggle and politics of the time. For Christians, its a fantastic dramatization of of the Biblical accounts of the early church that many are familiar with. The acting is wonderful and the events depicted are a real part of history, as closely as the producers could replicate them. The demographic measured is unfortunate. As we know from the Pew studies and Gallop polls, there is a steep fall-off in the faith of people in the Millennial generation compared to… Read more »
