The Bible mini-series was a big ratings success for the History channel. Will the follow-up AD: The Bible Continues be a hit for NBC? Will the network want another Bible-related mini-series? If it flops, could they pull this one off the air? Stay tuned.
The AD: The Bible Continues mini-series tells the tale of the later chapters of biblical history (following the Crucifixion of Christ). It focuses on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest. The cast includes Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Levy, Richard Coyle, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jodhi May, Joanne Whalley, Ken Bones, Kevin Doyle, Helen Daniels, and Fraser Ayers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/3 update: NBC has cancelled the series. They won’t air a second season but…
Final season averages: 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.41 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the AD: The Bible Continues mini-series? Would you like to see another Bible-related mini-series on NBC?
Please bring this program back………excellent.
We hope it returns. It was well done, we thoroughly enjoyed it and looked forward to it each week. The amount of commercials were ridiculous.
I really miss AD not being on tonight. Can I purchase the series. Hope to see season two.
Sunday at 9 didn’t seem quite the same. without AD. I hope you continue with the next season.
Turned on to PBS Poldark — good but I still missed AD. Suggestion as far as your ads: Could you take a page from PBS book: limited ads at beginning and end and not interrupt the story itself?
Thank you.
i love it. keep it going
The series was very good but the ending was the worst I have ever seen in any mini series.
No closure. No ending . Just left you hanging.
Sorry I watched it.
we are 50 and 51 years young and loved the series, never missed it and would definitely watch season two! Please stick closer to true story line in future, but it was awesome’ I didn’t care for the actor playing Saul/Paul but everything else was awesome. Thank you again! suzanne wheat
I love this show. Some things were not really biblical but did keep it interesting. I am for it if it will get people interested in finding out what the bible says. We need more shows like this that will help people to build stronger morals
Please continue A.D. The Bible series. I watched every series and looked forward for the next one each week. I’m very disappointed that it is not on NBC tonight. We need more of these Bible stories on TV so that others will be encouraged, to seek a relationship with Jesus Christ!
We NEED more of A.D.!!!!! Please bring it back! In Christ name!
Please continue A. D. considering the way it ended….left me hanging and wanting more.
Yes it did leaving us wanting more to see I hope they continue this
I have watch every series. I want to see more. This is very important for everyone to see. I not a nbc fan. But bible ad has changed my viewing and I watch more on nbc. That will continue and it is because of bible ad. I encourage nbc to renew the series. Thank you nbc.
Please keep the Mimi series going. Excellent show.
We watched every week and really enjoyed it – would love to see them bring it back! It needs to come back given the ending . . . they left their options wide open for sure.
The reason many stopped watching was because of the numerous and long commercials! I love, love this series! We started watching it on NBC.com. Awesome….NO commercials! We looked forward to watching it every week. Would love to see it continue (if we can once again access it online…no commercials). I don’t mind a few commercials, but it was unreal.
Please keep this excellent series. I love it!
love the series/…would like to see it continued..
