It’s becoming more likely that the American Idol TV show will be rebooted in the near future. ABC is reportedly close to making a deal for the singing competition TV series. Meanwhile, it seems FOX is also aggressively pursuing the reboot, which makes sense, since it was so successful for the network, the first time out.
Last summer, former host Ryan Seacrest said he was up for an American Idol revival. Last week, however, he joined the syndicated Live with Kelly! talk show as the newest co-host opposite Kelly Ripa. While Live shoots in New York, Idol was an L.A.-based show during its original FOX run. According to Variety, past Idol winners and contestants, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Fantasia, Phillip Phillips, and Adam Lambert, could be attached to the new series.
