TNT has been making a concerted effort to beef up its edgy dramas. And while the cable network has cancelled many, its gritty Animal Kingdom TV show performed well enough to score a second season. How long will its lucky streak continue? Will Animal Kingdom be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
This TNT crime drama stars Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, and Molly Gordon. In season two, the recurring cast includes Alex Meraz, Jennifer Landon, and Tembi Locke. A television adaption of the 2010 Australian feature film, the Animal Kingdom TV show centers on Joshua “J” Cody (Cole). After his mom dies from a heroin overdose, J moves in with his estranged grandmother — Janine “Smurf” Cody (Barkin) — and her unruly clan of criminals. The second season opens with the Codys up to no good. When their heist fails to proceed as planned, it shakes up the family dynamics. As a threat from Smurf’s past emerges, they must decide whether to break away, or rally to her side.

Love this show…just discovered it on amazon..,told my friends…they all love it…please make a season 3…..this is as good as sons of anarchy.
It’s gritty, has really interesting characters and the possibilities for a good way to follow Josh’ s development in to another few seasons. While not quite SOA, it has potential
Keep it going ..Love the actors and the show!
Absolutely love this show. Keep it going!
Ratings have been steady so far. Season three renewal is looking really good right now.
Definitely this is a favorite show of my friends and I!
This is one of my very favorite shows other that some on BBC America. Nat Geo is airing Genius which is quite good and of course AMC’s Better call Saul. Other than that, tv is a wash for me and I am 83!With regard to Animal Kingdom I enjoy the acting, the setting, the dialogue, etc. There are so few good dramas currently on tv which is one of the reasons I enjoy some of the shows on KOCE and KCET. Give me a good book but I do enjoy escaping at times.
Definitely we need to see a Season 3 and more! Excellent show all around! producing, directing, writing, acting, and location!
Oh you bet this show should stick around. Not many shows out there that my husband and i thoroughly enjoy together. BUT need more advertising!
Renew!! I love it.
This show is great please don’t make the mistake History channel did with Gangland Undercover or WGN The Outsiders great tv compared to all the crap on these days 10 stars out of 5 in my book….
How’s that new direction working for ya’ Reilly? Gawd, this show BLOWS! Ratings prove it!
The ratings prove it? If you want to see ratings that blow, look how many shows SYFY has with live ratings under a 0.20. Tons! Good Behavior with a 0.19(renewed). Humans with a 0.14(Renewed) The Son with a 0.16(renewed). Animal Kingdom is still averaging above a 0.35, and that is way good enough for renewal. How about SYFY renewing 12 Monkeys for a 4th and final season because they knew that the live average ratings for season 3 would be under a 0.10 before they showed season three. They were! Surprise!
Yeah it’s been holding up very well for being in its second season.. One lost hater isn’t going to make a difference .. Bring on more Cody’s
‘Tis show is very entertaining, Ellen Barkin in the best, including the cast members,, keep it going..
Best show on TV. Definitely should be renewed.
