Tragedy strikes Ax Men. TVLine reports Ax Men star Gabe Rygaard was killed in a car accident last week in his home state of Washington.
Earlier this year, Rygaard announced the History series had been cancelled after nine seasons. His family’s logging company was featured in the docuseries, which chronicled the logging industry of the Pacific Northwest.
In May, Rygaard posted a message on Facebook saying there would be no 10th season of Ax Men:

Really, really miss “Ax Men”. So sorry to hear about Gabe, he will be missed. But the show wasn’t about the Regards only. I really want to know more about the other people, especially, Shelby.

I am sure Gabe wouldn’t mind the show carrying on without him, R.I.P Gabe, but the show had more than just the Rygards, the show had it all, tough men doing one of the toughest jobs in the world, a couple of cute girls, oh and Shelby, he just made the show, BRING IT BACK, one of the best series on t.v….
So sorry to hear about Gabe, Ive been waiting for the show to come back on and decided to look it up, please don’t cancel Ax Men, it was one of my favorite shows! Bring it back please! In loving memory of Gabe Rygaard.

We are so sorry to hear about Gabe, our hearts go out to the family. We will miss the show, we watched it every week and so looked forward to season 10.
Try to use Shelby as the prominent character and bring back Ax Men. Sorry for Gabs family but sure they want to continue show. It’s a mistake and an insult to those of us that faithfully tuned in. We won’t be watching ” seals”. Too much war and stories on war for my. Soul to see for entertainment.
