TV show description:
This TV series is a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s most well-known film, Psycho. It provides an intimate portrait of how Norman Bates’ psyche unraveled through his teenage years — including his intricate relationship with his mother and how she helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.
Norma Louise Bates (Vera Farmiga) is a resilient, intelligent, beautiful, and complicated woman. A contemporary single mother, she is emotionally complex and utterly devoted to her Norman. She’s constantly juggling her own needs and some hardcore baggage, all while trying to create a new home in a new town for herself and her son.
Smart, quietly funny, handsome and sometimes shy, Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) is a 17 year old boy who has an intensely close bond with his mother. He’s resistant to starting over in White Pine Bay, but begins to change his mind as he starts to spread his wings. His mother isn’t the only woman in his life.
Emma Decody (Olivia Cooke) is a quirky, pretty, intelligent 17 year old girl who has cystic fibrosis and is also an “old soul.” She gets an almost immediate crush on Norman and always finds her way to his doorstep.
Meanwhile, Bradley Martin (Nicola Peltz) is a beautiful, popular, and affluent, 17 year old who befriends Norman out of kindness. She’s soon surprised to find herself drawn to him in other, deeper ways.
At school, Miss Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy) is Norman’s compassionate and beautiful Language Arts teacher. She’s taken with Norman as a student but senses he may have some deep emotional issues that are going unchecked.
Things get more complicated at home for Norman when his half-brother from Norma’s first marriage shows up. Dylan Massett (Max Thieriot) is an edgy outsider in the family dynamic. He’s a lost soul and a drifter who finds himself, by necessity, drifting back into their troubled lives.
Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell) is the “moral” center of the town, although morality is often a shifting line here. Imposing and discerning, he gets involved in Norma Bates’ life after an unfortunate incident at the motel.
Deputy Zack Shelby (Mike Vogel) is young, handsome, and clear-eyed. He has an immediate attraction to Norma and finds himself drawn into her life and wanting to take care of her.
Episode #50 — The Cord
Norman Bates comes home.

What do you think? Do you like the Bates Motel TV series? Do you think it should be ending with season five? Would you have watched a sixth season or if this the right time?
great show, so sad to see it go. Loved the characters.
I love what they did with the end but I want it to continue. It was an awesome show and only got better to the very end. Dillon should take over bates and get stupid now. LOL..
I will miss Bates , I don’t know what I will do on Monday nights now!! I was shocked to find out it was cancelled, and extremely disappointed. It was good while it lasted, thanks for entertaining me.
Me too I loved this show to the max!
started to watch the past 10 shows leading up to the finale last night, i enjoyed, is bates coming out on dvd
stupid ending! insulting to Hitchcock! you stole from Hitchcock and trashed it!!
I will, ‘hate’, that I ever wasted my time watching, ‘Bates Motel’. The best actor on the show, ‘Romero’ was killed off. Should have ended with him, alive. Shame on the writers and producers.
Best tv series ever! Please continue!
Keep it going I love this show
I HATE TO SEE THIS SHOW END!! Bates Motel is the best show on TV! It is a great thriller! Great acting, Norman and Norma and Norma are PERFECTION!!! The writing is superb and I could watch it for ever or at least until Norman comes knocking at MY DOOR! Then it’s LIGHTS OUT!

not sure why its ending only 5 seasons:( dissappointing
I love this show. Upset it won’ be continuing. Bad move writers
I’m sorry but I don’t really care that this series was cancelled. I could tell from the very beginning that it wasn’t going to last. It’s kinda hard to do a series about a movie, especially a classic, when the actor doesn’t do the original actor, Anthony Perkins, justice!!!!
I must be in the minority but I never looked upon this series as going on beyond a certain point in time, where it would intersect with the movie. After all, it was a “prequel”. There would have to be, at some point, a grand finale. Love the show (though some sub-plots were a bit boring) but have thought since the beginning that it had a story to tell, and once that was over, so was the series.
I’m so made that this is ending this was my favorite show really going to miss it. Hopefully it comes back even though they said it is ending this season.
