CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
just found out that Battle Creek was not renewed for new season. I really wish CBS would reconsider. I don’t think Sunday at 10pm did this show justice. It was, by far, the BEST new show on any network!!! Please reconsider your decision, CBS.
so disappointed! Battle creek is a wonderful quirky twist on the standard cop show. If CBS doesn’t renew, I hope someone like USA network would pick it up.
This reminds me of the movie Idiocracy, if we leave it up to 18 year olds then we will be froce fed a number one rated show about a guy getting kicked in the balls! Seriously, Battle creek is a well written, intelligent show so of course lets cancel it. Thats stupid!
Please renew Battle Creek.
I think your rating system is wrong. My friends and I all watch this show. We have even had “Dinner and Battle Creek” nights. And if one of us misses the show, the others aren’t allowed to talk about it at all until all have watched it. PLEASE PLEASE don’t cancel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best new show…..CBS just made a bad decision. This was the one show I made sure I was home to watch because I am unable to record. LOVED the chemistry between the two main characters!!!
Battle Creek was the best new show this past year!!! And I think the ratings are a little screwed up. Myself, like SO MANY OF MY FRIENDS have opted out of subscribing to ANY cable service so we just use an antenna and get about 15-19 channels. I get three CBS channels, 2 ABC channels, 3 NBC channels, 2 FOX channels, MeTV, and PBS. But our watching habits won’t appear in any documentation because we just use an antenna. To cancel this show would be a bad move!!!! I honestly think the only two good new shows are Battle Creek… Read more »
Please, please, please don’t cancel Battle Creek, I really enjoy it!!!!
Is there anything that can be done to bring this series back? It was one of best in many years.
Don’t cancel! This show is awesome. Big mistake. This show deserves another year.
Don’t cancel Battle Creek! One of the few shows I really like. Love the cast!
Best show on TV. Keep it
One of the best new shows this year!
Battle Creek is a great show and should be brought back. CBS didn’t give it a chance.
This is a unique show with a great cast and terrific writing. Why on earth would you cancel it? It’s subtlety was its gift. We need more smart shows!
