He’s still got the power. The CW has renewed the Black Lightning TV show for a fourth season which will air as part of the 2020-21 network television season.
The Black Lightning TV show is based on DC Comics characters and stars Cress Williams, Christine Adams, China Ann McClain, Nafessa Williams, James Remar, Marvin Jones III, and Damon Gupton. In the series, Jefferson Pierce (Williams) is a former Olympic athlete, a respected educator, and a family man. He’s also Black Lightning, the superpowered protector of the city of Freeland who has the ability to sense and harness electricity. His daughters Anissa (Williams) and Jennifer (McClain) also have powers and superhero personas of their own. Lynn Stewart (Adams) is Jefferson’s ex-wife and an expert in metahuman medicine and they are still very much in love. Together, the Pierce family faces the challenges of a declined urban community, including infamous gangster, Tobias Whale (Jones III), and a menacing gang that calls itself The 100.
The third season of Black Lightning is averaging a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 679,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 24% in the demo and down by 30% in viewership.
Season three of Black Lightning resumes on January 20th. Season four will air as part of the 2020-21 television season and that kicks off in Fall 2020.

I have just become a fan of Black Lighting, I have binged watched the show for twice on Netflix all the way to season 3 and it left me waiting for more, awesome tv series.

I am in love with this show. My husband and I was looking for something different to watch and found this on Netflix. We ended up getting so involved the we literally finished all 3 seasons in a week. We can not wait for the new season to start!!!! So anxious to see what happens… so many unanswered questions. Lol

I have enjoyed it I’m glad to hear that is coming back this is information that I use for my teen program for gang banging and drug abuse and understanding government power and education teen pregnancy respecting your family being a part of your community this is what I teach my teen ages from 10 years old to 18. I can’t wait for the fall. I’ve told so many people to even binge watch it now with their teenagers. Soundtrack is fire.
I love this show. I binged the first 16 episodes in season one and 3-4 episodes per night until I finished season 3. So happy to hear it’s returning this fall. I can’t wait. Job well done. I look forward to the new season. Wayne Bradley is an added bonus.

OMG! I love this show. I just learned about it. Bingeing now. Well written and directed. Real race, gender, social and economic issues and history in palatable form. Great casting & acting, soundtrack is fire. So glad it has been renewed. It needs much better marketing to non-comic black audiences. Rating would be much better.
