Last year, Blindspot debuted to very strong ratings but the numbers saw a big decline as the season progressed. The finale had about half as many viewers as the premiere. Will the ratings continue to fall? Will NBC still consider this series to be a hit or will it burn out? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
On Blindspot, a Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) is found inside a body bag that’s been left in Times Square. Jane is covered with complex tattoos and has no memory of her previous existence. FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team are called in and they discover an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption with a nefarious group at the center. The second season cast also includes Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, Ukweli Roach, Luke Mitchell, Michelle Hurd, and Archie Panjabi.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Blindspot averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Blindspot TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
5/10/17 update: Blindspot has been renewed for season three on NBC. Details here.
The show was RENEWED, but the episode last night was really good, and all it did was a 0.80. I hope the live +3 and +7 help it out.
They need to keep Blindspot. We only have a handful of shows we watch anymore, and that is one. That and Blacklist!
RENEW!! That and Blacklist BEST
The background music is to loud. If you can’t hear what the actors are saying , you might as well cancel the show.
Love the show and hope it continues!!!! All the characters are so great but I have to say Patterson and Rich.com are the breakouts!!!
Keep it please. Great show. So many places to go with it. The characters are great.
Great show. Well done and exciting to watch. A mistake to cance.
Love Blind Spot. Big mistake to cancel it
Renew. Put it back on a 10pm slot and get rid of the current bad guys. You are following the same creative death spiral that killed Person of Interest. Also 18-49 is too broad a demographic. 18-22, 23-35, 36-49, over 50.
Renew! It’s a super solid show. It’s not perfect but no show is. It’s unique with amazing characters and an interesting plot. Please keep this show!!
Great show. And yeh, some mistakes was written in S2, but was correct yet. To many strong stories to be told.It worth to be renewed and put in a better schedule.
Great show. And yeh, some bad plot was written in S2, but it seems it is yet corrected. Need better schedule. To much stronger stories to be told.I love this show.
@NBCBlindspot SHOULD be renewed, but they need to stop ******** around with the relationships. The people I talk to about Blindspot were attracted to the the two leads from different types of worlds being together. Now they’re aggressively apart. 🙁 Didn’t like the drug addiction storyline – there’s enough bad going on – that was just one step too far. Love the brother storyline this season with Jane, but I still feel sometimes like the writers are phoning some of it in with the smaller plot points. Almost like they had some Windows program that gave them episodes that were… Read more »
Please cancel. Tired of poor writing. Also get the lead actor to shave his neck. Looks awful. Only watching because I want to see how this season ends
Show bogged down with too many open ends. Why not create an arc around one major criminal activity and end it after a season or maybe half a season. My attention span is less with each episode of this show. Yeah, cancel it and start over.
