Tonight marks the end of Burn Notice on USA Network. After 111 episodes and seven seasons, it’s time to say goodbye to Michael Westen — but it might not be forever.
In a recent interview with TheWrap, series creator Matt Nix says that he’s open to doing either a spin-off or a reunion movie of some kind.
He said, “I would love to do it… The door has been left open intentionally [in the finale], but nobody’s asked me to write a script. If the opportunity ever arose to do something like that I’d be thrilled.”
What do you think? Would you like to see Burn Notice return in some form one day?
Honestly, Burn Notice is the only, and will be the only, t.v show that I have ever gotten into. To hear it being canceled made me extremely sad. I do hope that one day it will return in anyway, whether it be a movie or a completely different t.v show. Just having all those characters act together as a team makes Burn Notice an absolutely fa-nominal t.v show. Please, I am begging you to start it up again in anyway! The reunion would be the best place to start!
So sad to see this show cancelled. One of my all time favorites. Really sorry they can’t restart it.
Oh how I miss you Burn Notice! I have been watching through all seasons on repeat and miss Burn Notice! I would love to see a movie or maybe sell the series to another network. Whatever has to be done for me to see more Burn Notice, I pray happens! I miss the feeling of suddenly craving yogurt and wanting to rewire my microwave to melt something! Hope to see Michael, Jesse, Sam, and Fiona not to mention Michael’s mom soon! Love you guys!
a movie, leading to a spin-off would be perfect
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING A BURN NOTICE SEQUEL / REUNION MOVIE AS LONG AS THAT HAS FIONA JESSE SAM MICHAEL AND MICHAEL’S MOM COMPARED TO WATCHING THE CRAPPY N.C.I.S TELEVISION SERIES. THERE ARE SOME THINGS VIEWERS ARE REALLY GOOD AT SEEING AND THERE SOME THINGS YOU DON’T WANT TO THINK ABOUT SEEING EXACTLY LIKE WATCHING LAW AND ORDER SEQUELS THOSE ARE NOT THE LONGEST RUNNING FAMILY DRAMAS COMPARED TO THE GOOD ONES AS FAR AS WHAT FANS ARE CHOOSING TO WATCH
Really upset at the final ending of Burn Notice. This was the only show I would watch.
I really hope you can start a new show with all the same actor’s. Thanks
Compared to the Krappy Kardashians or Honey Boo Boo, there are no downside for either a spin-off with Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) and Jesse Porter (Coby Bell) continuing the good-guys for hire routine for a season or two. Or, even better, Sam and Jesse getting into real trouble and having Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) and Fiona (Gabriel Anwar) bail them out and do a post mission debrief and a memorial to Maddie. Depends on the cast availability, production budget, and a great story line.
But, hell yes, they would be welcomed back.
As much as I like the show, it’s time that it was wrapped up. I started to lose interest when each week the problems just got bigger, there was no end in sight for Michael’s problems, and, apparently, no hope for a happy resolution. Now that they have resolved the major story lines, then yes, I would love to see a number of movies, each done with the same spirit that the crew had in the second or third seasons when they were helping people, not just fighting to stay alive. They can be produced by “Chuck Finley”, and I… Read more »
I was loosing interest too, but realized it was the constant CIA problems, demands and control they were exercising over a top agent they burned in the first place. Once Michael got to the bottom of it, it should have been thanks for the training …. gotta go! The show had my attention because Michael took his knowledge and used it to help people domestically in a positive way. That aspect they could bring back anytime and perhaps do their work in another area… my vote would be San Francisco since I do like having a beautiful location for them… Read more »
“HELL YES” do a Spinoff and Reunion Movie. Hell bring the show back. I hated to see it end this was one show that I always turned to, and now what do I turn to? I’m really gonna miss the gang. Love ya hope to see cast back at work real soon.
This was the best show that was on TV. Why do all the networks waste there time on crappy reality shows? They should bring a spinoff with the original cast. Our whole family used to watch Burn Notice together.
Absolutely looking forward to either a reunion show or movie, although a movie (unless TV only) would be stretching it. Let us all remember the missed opportunity of the Sopranos. We waited and waited for the movie that never came. I’d watch a Sam spin off for sure.
I think a spin-off is possible but fans might have to wait a year or two. Like us regular folks, actors like a change of pace. Where we revamp our jobs, they move on to new roles. Kiefer Sutherland took a break, did something different, and will now return as Jack Bauer. Unless the main cast gets locked into something I could see them returning in a movie of the week thing once or twice a year, a limited broadcast like “24” is doing or a spin-off with Sam and Jesse who contact Michael and Fi for either advice or… Read more »
My wife and I loved the show and looked forward every week to watching what Michael, Fee and the crew were up to. It is very much a disappointment. It would be great if a spin off would come about and bring in Michael and Fee on occasion. Very sorry to see it go.
Yes a series and a movie would be great. My daughter and I watched the show for all 7 years and we loved all the characters
Would like to see a return or a movie. With the original cast members. A great show! will always be one of my top 3 favorites. Didnt want it to end. Not enough good entertainment… Reality TV shows S***… It was one of the best cast in 40 years . Great job. Guess I have to watch it from the beginning again for next 7 years
