Good news, Hearties, Hallmark Channel has announced the fifth season of its When Calls the Heart TV show will kick off with a two-hour sneak peek, during the “Countdown to Christmas.” Then, season five will return in February of 2018 with ten additional hour-long episodes.
When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Jack Wagner, Martin Cummins, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith. The historical drama is based on Janette Oke’s novel, of the same name. The Hallmark drama centers on Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a young teacher once accustomed to the world of high society.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – July 27, 2017 – Season five of Hallmark Channel’s original, primetime series “When Calls the Heart” returns with a two-hour sneak peek during the network’s annual, popular programming event, “Countdown to Christmas.” In February 2018, the saga of Hope Valley will continue with 10, one-our weekly episodes. Since its debut in January 2014, the frontier drama has continued to see viewership growth each year, with season four bringing double-digit gains in HHs and key demos.* The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Network’s bi-annual TV Critics Association Summer Press Tour.

The series boasts a passionate fan base known as the #Hearties, who have become a social media phenomenon, making “When Calls the Heart” one of the network’s most social series. The #Hearties’ activity on social media has reached record levels, causing the show to trend consecutively during every new episode since season four premiered on Sunday, February 19. To date, “When Calls the Heart” has seen a 15% growth in social media impressions secured over season three.
Based on the book of the same name by Janette Oke, the series stars Erin Krakow (“Army Wives”), Lori Loughlin (“Fuller House,” “90210”), Daniel Lissing (“The Last Resort”), Jack Wagner (“The Bold and the Beautiful”), Pascale Hutton (“Sanctuary”) and Kavan Smith (“Supernatural”). Love Daniel Lissing! He is the only reason I watch this show! He was excellent in Crownies and Last Resort!
Love the Hallmark channel. Always good movies the whole family can watch together. I am a widow & a member of the “over the hill” gang! I appreciate good TV—not much good TV these days, but Hallmark always comes through! My dog Lucy (a rescue dog) also loves to watch the Hallmark channel with me!!
My husband and I enjoy this show. We would like more of Elizabeth and jack. Too many other characters. Not enough time for all their stories. 10 episodes per year is not enough. Love the costumes, characters and going back in time.
Rumors flying that Pastor Frank will be gone. If so I for one will be very disappointed. Gowan has too, too much bad history for me to accept him over Pastor Frank. Here’s hoping the writers are listening.
I would love to watch Season 5 of When calls the Heart but alas we don’t get Hallmark in Australia and I can’t watch it online on the hallmark channel as I am not a member of any of the cable networks listed. I hope that it will be loaded onto google playstore as that is where I got the other four seasons from. Maybe somebody could send me a link?.

Such a great family show. Can’t wait to get our season 4 collection. We have the first three sets along with a number of the episodes on individual DVDs. Waiting for season 5 is torture .
