Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I absolutely loved cedar cove and am sad to hear its not returning. There are very few “feel good” tv shows on these days and am sad another one has slipped through the cracks.
This was an excellent series and something that could be watched by everyone without the use of profanity!!!! Why cancel something that was very true to life and enjoyable???????????? Why leave us hanging as to how all these relationships are resolved. I read all of her books and watch the Hallmark Channel religiously – best entertainment on TV.
Please reconsider and put season 4 of Cedar Cove on Hallmark Channel. For those of us who do not enjoy so many shows that the major networks offer, Hallmark and Cedar Cove is a joy to watch. You have got us hooked and now have left us hanging and wishing to see the resolution of so many relationships. Come on guys make so many viewers happy and take us back to Cedar Cove! Thank You!
I really enjoyed the show. It reminded me of watching tv with my family when I was a child. There weren’t any subjects off limit and it handled each with dignity and grace and none of the gratuitous nature of most shows today, which is not needed to get the message across. I never watched the show on Hallmark but just discovered it on Netflix. I’m sure I’m not the only Netflix watcher that would gladly tune in to The Hallmark Channel to find out what happens to all of our lovely residents of Cedar Cove!
please bring back Cedar Cove! This was a very good show
I didn’t come to watch Cedar Cove till middle of season 2 then watched season 3. I was hoping for a season 4 but could you at least have a 2 hour movie here and there to continue the story. It’s unfair leaving with a cliffhanger. I didn’t watch the Hallmark or HMM channel much until a year ago so I didn’t know all the different shows. Now I can’t get enough of the Garage Sale Mysteries, Murder She Baked, Sign, Sealed and Delivered, Flower Shop Mysteries. HMM is my go to TV channel and Hallmark too. PLEASE bring back… Read more »
Please bring back Cedar Cove or at least have one more show to finalize everything. My 15 year old granddaughter looked forward to our sunday nights together as did I to watch it. That was the best compared to all the garbage on tv today. WE ARE SAD.
A show I looked forward to each year. I actually just found out now that it has been cancelled. Hallmark has disappointed me twice now (not that I matter) but this is sad – with all the garbage on TV this was a nice show to watch I’m sad that it’s gone. Also, Home & Family is a show I enjoy but don’t watch as often now since you disposed of Christina Ferrare. I guess Home & “Family” isn’t so much of a family.
please bring back cedar cove! at the very least a 2 hr movie to wrap things up!!!
I just watched the 1st episode on Netflix and loved it. Loved it. At the very least if you aren’t going to renew it, you should have a few episodes to finish it up and not leave it hanging. I hate when I get really into a show and then the channel just drops it with nothing settled. It makes me not want to watch that channel again.
It’s sad that in this day an age good series come along and they get cancelled. Their are very very few TV shows that are worthwhile to watch every week but this was one of them. You touch a spot on so many topics, and kept an interest held. I am very sorry for your viewers that you found the need to cancel.
I am so very disappointed about the cancellation of Cedar Cove. I didn’t realize that it was canceled until just now! So much left incomplete. I truly enjoyed the show!
What a crock, you take off good family entertainment and leave trash, “The Good Witch” on.
You could at least have a final show to wrap up all the unanswered questions. Guess we’ll spend our TV time watching other channels now.
I noticed there were no commercials about Cedar Cove this summer, so I looked it up. So disappointed to find out it was cancelled, and with no conclusion. Shame on Hallmark for not at least coming back with a 2 hour movie to wrap it up. I was never able to watch it on TV because we didn’t get the Hallmark channel before on Uverse. I had to watch it on Amazon, and I wanted every single episode. Now we have Hallmark Channel and the show is cancelled. 🙁
I am so sad to find out the show was cancelled. I binged watched three seasons on Netflix and fell in love with Cedar Cove and cast.
Loved the show. So sad to see it go
