Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I was truly enjoying Cedar Cove and faithfully watched all three seasons. There were a lot of unanswered questions with various characters at the end of season 3. Can Hallmark at least give us a finale 2 hour movie to wrap up the loose ends of the story/character? It was one of the few decent shows on TV to view. PLEASE CONSIDER A FINALE MOVIE!!!! Thank You!!!
I loved the show and was extremely disappointed when it was canceled.It seems like every time a good decent show comes on it doesn’t last long. I also was sorry it ended in mid stream.
Every summer in very hot humid Florida weather I had looked forward to the Cedar Cove series returning, such a breath of fresh air! Waiting for OUR summer to start cooling down. PLEASE bring it back or have Netflix continue it, will miss it dearly. Did NOT have a PROPER ending for those of us who watched faithfully!
I recently started watching this on netflix. I liked it. Why do these networks cancel shows mid stream? The way it was ended leaves a lot of unanswered questions. If you’re going to cancel a show, at least give it a proper ending.
I really enjoyed this show. I wish the story lines had moved a bit quicker and had more episodes per season.

I was so disappointed to read it was not picked up. It is such a breath of fresh air. Love the stories, characters and beautiful scenery. I’ve emailed Netflix asking them to pick it up. I REALLY hope they take notice that there are a lot of us that want it back. Please bring it back on Hallmark or if Netflix would pick-it up that would be great!

I’m so very sorry to hear that there will be no season 4 and we are left hanging as to what will happen to various relationships. Wish this hadn’t happened; I really enjoyed the series. Thank you for the years that you put into the series.

I totally agree!!!! It’s sweet, wholesome and very enjoyable to watch. Logon to Netflix and ask them to pick-it-up. I did. I want it to continue!
