NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

Chase was an excellant show, can’t believe the network put it on hold and now apparently have cancelled it. Please reconsider.
I watched the show and I’m sad to see it get pulled. I guess if NBC doesn’t get instant gratification they cut and run.
I really looked forward to the show. I, for one, will miss it.
Chase was your answer to fox prison break and 24 not saying that it compare to them but it seem to be a show that put NBC in that mode of drama. I think you didn’t give the Wednesday time slot time. And the Monday time slot when Monday night football is on is not a time slot to get the male veiwers.
I’m SO tired of knee-jerk Network reactions. It takes time to build a fan base for a series. And what moron decided to move it to Wednesday night? Monday night was the best place for it.
Bring it back, put it back on Monday night and let it grow. Come on NBC. Wake up!
I will so miss Annie Frost!!! They Cancelled “Life” if they cancel this one I will never watch NBC again. And I mean that.
I liked chase it was something cool to watch. I didn’t always get to sit down and watch it when it was on that is why i loved being able to watch it online. I will miss it if they take it off. It seems like every show I really like they take it off the air. Which really sucks cause tv shows that are about something like chase was is better than watch someone you don’t know win money or something like that.
I loved this show. It had a good plot and good characters. I am sick and tired of of shows getting replace by “reality tv” and game shows!
Bring the show back..Well scripted and fun to watch.
Chase was HOT!!!! I never missed one episode 🙁 this is so sad please bring it back or give to another network.
I enjoyed the show…. wish NBC would put it back on….. and cancel some of their other dumb shows…..
This is why free network tv is a joke. The networks promo all the reality/game show programs to no end. Then they expect the new series to just miraculously survive and flourish while bumping them around from night to night with very little advertising for them. The series programming on HBO, Showtime, FX, A&E, USA, TNT, TBS, Discovery, etc. is FAR superior. PLEASE, give these shows a chance. Especially this show (Chase). Most of these shows are doomed before they even get off the ground. …and it’s no fault of the writers or actors. What a shame.
We will miss Chase — there has never been another show quite like it. NBC does make a lot of dumb choices, I hope those is not one of them!
Please not that stupid, annoying game show! Chase didn’t open strong, but keeps getting better. Bring it back and give it an opportunity to click.
Quality Show- Great to watch then NBC decides they know better- No wonder I hardly ever watch NBC anymore.
I feel the same way
