NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

Chase needs to come back. Come on son, NBC is bugging putting Minute to Win It on in place of bringing Chase back. This show is drama from start fo finish and it kept me involved from the beginning and I LOVED IT. BRING IT BACK NBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
We loved the series Chase, and really miss it. The reason NBC has fallen behind in viewers is because they take the good shows off and put bad shows on. Come on people bring back good shows.
I see the show is returning on this Saturday. It is a good show better than the dump minute to win it.
My husband and myself watched Chase every week or taped to watch later.
I have no desire to watch the minute to win, it stinks.
Hope they don’t cancel this series, I enjoy watching it.
I love Chase! And I am sure that more people watched Chase then are currently watching its replacement! I hate it when the really good shows get pulled!
We want Chase back! Our family considers it one of the best if not the best new program NBC had put on
Chase was a good show…much better than many of the silly offerings on network TV. Strong cast and good characters…a shame if it is not back.
We loved this series! Every week I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode. I’m surprised it wasn’t as well like. Minute to Win it is not even close to the same type of entertainment. NBC should really consider bringing it back. I don’t think it was promoted very well, that would explain lack of viewers…
Minute to win it…. Sucks!! I’m not watching NBC any more! Bye!
I really enjoyed the TV show Chase….would like to see more episodes. ..
i was late into watching the show… but once i found it it was a fun and compelling show. I hate the fact that you start to get drawn into a show and they just stop when you are just getting to the heart of the people in it.
Chase was much better than the replacement. I went to another network/cable channel as there are way to many “Minute to Win It” type programs on TV. Yes, we know that there are law and order, CSI, police, shows that can be viewed. That, however, is the reason…people like them. An even bigger reason is that there is virtually no competition in which the “leader” is a female…and a good looking one at that! Try it again or add it to a cable channel. After all, “Friday Night Lights” was so sucessful on calbe that it will now be successfully… Read more »
We really love the TV series Chase. Please don’t chncel it.
This is just another reason why subsribers ought to drop their satelite and other television providers and go to alternative watching its cheaper and you choose what you want and don`t have to be disgusted every weed when they drop another series you get into. They are droppin all of the series and replacing them with stup reality shows. Come on how many more realities shows can one person take. This is the 7th series drpped in less then a year and it`s beyond a joke. I won`t name any of them so as not to afend any one in… Read more »
Agree with you, they keep cancelling perfectly good shows to air “brain-death reality shows”, as I call them. I refuse to watch every single one of them. I loved Chase , its characters and story line.
