NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

I am totally disappointed about chase being cancelled. I looked forward to watching it every week. Wed is American Idol night bad night to televise. I hope u reconsider and put it back on a different night. Thanks
Only hope USA or TNT would pick it up. Great series, well-done, good scripts, and unbelievable star great casting. NBC kept moving it and puting it up against the best of the other networks. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I can’t believe NBC removed this show. It was the best action pack law enforcement show on TV. I loved this show. How much finer is it to give honor to our U.S. Marshall service than watching this show seeing how hard it is to catch the bad guys or seeing the personal struggles these honorable men and women go through keeping all of us safe. Great show, another administrative blunder.
Really enjoyed the show and want it to continue!!! Watched faithfully each time it was on and looked forward to the next episode. Kelli Giddish is perfect for the role and her supporting cast makes it both exciting and believable–they need to give it its full run and go from there!
Once again, the networks cave into dumbing down the shows in primetime. When will we see good drama on television. There are soooo few to choose from and this is just another example of a great show – CHASE – being trimmed down – dumped – for some junk that insults our intelligence! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Chase was absolutely one of the best new series’ on TV. My family and I enjoyed every episode and cannot believe some of the series’ that are allowed to stay on and this one was canceled. It is our hope that the network will decide to return the series on a night later.
WHY DO YOU GUYS KEEP DOING THIS? WHY? WHY? WHY? Chase was the only show that i watched on your Network. I absolutely LOVE that show!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the show, Chase, I hope it returns. Maybe it just wasn’t placed properly on the schedule. WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT RETURN.

CBS has cornerd the market on good shows. I really enjoyed CHASE but apparently I am a minority. As far as TB shows, NBC can close up shop. I detest those stupid reality shows like Minute and the horrible show that had Howie and the cases of money. LOW mentality…

I agree. This is a great show! Like TNT’s “Closer” we need strong female rolls. I have friends just starting to watch and love this show. Networks cancel shows before giving their audience a chance to find them. Minute to win it is STUPID!
My husband and I loved Chase too! If they quit moving nights, switching the time, and putting on other shows when Chase should have been, viewers might have known when to actually watch it. We missed it when they first moved it to Wednesday night. It was the only show we watched so we never saw any ads with the change on it.
i think nbc is a bunch of morons. have they ever made a good choice? look at the mess with leno.they never give anything a chance. between moving nights,specials,time changes,award shows you can’t settle in on any show. nbc must really be in trouble. the best thing that can happen for everyone is if they go out of business. just keep adding more shows like a minute to win and that should happen. your cable bills are going up,the program time is less, the shows are worse and your viewers are fewer. i just cancelled my network pkg. with dish.… Read more »
