NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

By continually cancelling good shows for no reason, the network will soon lose much of their viewership except for faithful watchers for long-run shows, that, by the way, are aging. Not a smart choice by cancelling this, NBC. Chase would have survived much longer than Minute to Win It if we all knew when it aired.
I LOVED Chase!! I wathced it every week, and was even more excited when it moved to an hour earlier on Wednesday nights. I’ve been looking and waiting for it to come back on only to find out that once again a great show was cancled! I am so sick and tired of these “get rich” reality games and tv shows. What happened to good drama and plots on TV shows? I have almost stopped watching the “BIG” networks, and this just made one less reason to turn on NBC, ABC, CBS….
I enjoyed Chase and hope they bring it back. It was one of the few new shows that had a decient story line.
I have never written anything to a network before but once again you have dropped the ball NBC. You never really gave this show a chance to develope its characters for the viewers to connect with them on a personal level. I have thoroughly enjoyed each episode as you got to learn more and more about them each week. You gave up on this series way to early. I really don’t want this show to be cancelled! I loved this show! Apparently they put the show on hiatus the day it was going to air an episode I was looking forward to, so that kind of made me mad. Please don’t put this show to the side! I really enjoyed it! Please bring it back…you’ll have a viewer that comes back every week!

My family and i think “chase” is an awesome show. Maybe the series didn’t catch on like the network hoped because it wasn’t advertised or promoted the way it needs to be. So many people love shows like criminal minds, CSI, and law & order. Chase is along the same lines. There is no reason that this series shouldn’t have taken off other than poor publicity. Bring chase back. Thank you.

i think this is a ridiculous move on nbc’s part…..they didnt even give the show a chance they didnt do enough advertising and then they changed the day and time the show aired !!! i think the show it great no matter what the dumb critics say i usually watch no tv whatsoever yet when i heard about the show i watched it once and was hooked…every week since i have looked forward to watching it and now they took it off!!!!!! i am so upset about this i hope they have a change of heart and bring it back
I cannot believe that they are cancelling Chase! I love that show! I love the cast and the action! CBS is CRAZY! Who needs another reality show! Bring the US Marshall’s back to stay! Maybe you could actually advertise!!!!!
Seriously? While I enjoyed Minute to Win It in the beginning, it got old with the overly excited people! Chase on the other hand, was intelligent and just a great show. My Mom and I love the show and would really like to see it return!!! Give it a chance!
I think Chase was an excellant TV series. It provided lots of great entertainment to the adult viewing audience and highlighted another aspcet of law enforcement from the US Marshall point of view. I hope NBC reconsiders and brings the show back; maybe in a different time slot and night.
I loved this show! I wish they would bring it back. I think that the only reason the ratings were low was because it aired opposite of Hawaii 5-O. When they started moving the show around to a different night, I was not aware of it and just assumed it was canceled.
Chase was one of a few shows that I actually like to watch. I feel that networks are not giving tv shows a chance. No one knows when a show will be on if they keep getting bounced around.
