NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

If the networks would quit pre-empting our shows the NEW ones would have a chance. Chase is is great show but who wants to watch a show one time every three weeks??? COME ON>>Lets have REAL SEASONS like we used to..This on and off stuff is ridiculous!!! All 3 Networks are GUILTY of killing our interest in Series shows with all of the long intervals between “NEW” Episodes… Good shows deserve respect by show them every week for the whole season! Maybe skipping Holiday Week..But THIS YEAR HAS BEEN AWFUL!!! We want our SEASONS BACK!
What a shame that NBC can’t appreciate a good show. Instead it does what has put the network in the toilet on ratings – scramble to feed the non-thinking element of its viewers. Hopefully, if NBC lets Chase go, another network will have the good instincts to pick the show up and give it a decent time slot on a decent network. Annie Frost is one of the best characters on TV right now. The character development of that role is fantastic as is Kelli Giddish’s acting. If the show is cancelled, I hope to see her land another role… Read more »
I love chase. I have watched it from beginning. Please bring it back.
I blame NBC for not promoting the show properly. I turned all my friends on to the show and they all love it. But they had never even heard of it until I recommended it to them. I think Chase is the best new show this year!
We watch it an miss it, NBC! Bring it back or at least air the remaining episodes. Minute to win it is for the brain dead, IMO.
CHASE is No. 1 series!
please stop canceling these new shows. I love this show. I really like the concept and have been watching it from the beginning. Give it a new time… a better time. I’d like to know where these ratings are coming from? Just like the show undercovers… it was canceled before it had a chance. Who gets to say if these shows stay or go? should be the fans’ choice.
Bring it back. – Its a great show. Lots of action. Minute to Win it, not even in the same league. Give the people what they want or NBC will be in last place forever.
Bring Chase back. It was a very exciting show. It was on the wrong night. I couldn’t wait to see it. The only reason I watched Minute to win it, was because I didn’t want to miss Chase when it came on. I was real disappointed when Chase didn’t come on. Bring Chase back.
I LO VE Chase – bring it back in a different time slots to give it a chance for better ratings.
BRING “CHASE” BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am highly disappointed in it’s absence. I guess this means that either NBC caters to the low-intellect population or the viewers who care to watch A Minute To Win It reflect the mindless television population. Who the hell determines these ratings?!
I can’t believe one of my favorite shows is leaving …. I have watched it from the beginning and taped it just in case I missed it. Please bring it back !!!!
It’s a great show and a shame NBC couldn’t make it a success. Unfortunately, if the majority of viewers prefer idiotic games over well-scripted drama that’s what the networks have to deliver. It’s about making a profit and if the customers want trash that’s what NBC will give them. There isn’t much worth watching on the networks anymore.
I love the show , give it a chance
