We all knew it was coming but now the peacock network has made it official. Chase has been cancelled after one abbreviated season on the air and won’t be back for season two.
Chase follows US Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as she heads up the Houston Enforcement & Apprehension Task Force. Annie and her team (played by Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins, and Jesse Metcalfe) hunt down America’s most dangerous fugitives.
When it debuted in September, Chase scored mediocre ratings at best and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights in 2011, the ratings only got worse and it became the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
In February, NBC pulled the show off the air but wouldn’t say that it was cancelled. Still, we all knew the writing was on the wall. There were five episodes left unaired and last month, the peacock network began burning them off on Saturday nights. If there were any hopes left, the Saturday ratings reports dashed them. New episodes of Chase typically don’t perform any better than reruns of other NBC shows.
The peacock network has now made the cancellation official. Episode 17 airs tonight and the series finale of Chase airs next Saturday night at 8pm.
What do you think? Will you miss watching Chase? Why do you think the series struggled right from the start?

Chase was one of the best shows on your network. It has a story to it and it is excellent. I think part of the reason the ratings are down as people never know when it is going to be on. You move it around so much.
This just goes to show why NBC is at or near the bottom of the list. Too much trash TV and not enough of interesting shows like Case
My wife and I loved Chase. We are just very happy that we don’t depend on NBC for very much of our programming. Thank God for CBS,ABC,FOX,etc.
On second thought I think we will just stop watching NBC period as they are always cancelling shows and never know from one week to the next what will be on!
Perhaps the best drama on TV, at least for me. It’s also happening in my city of Houston. I really liked the last episode.
The entire family watched this show and enjoyed it, one of the few we can watch as a family……. Thanks alot NBC!
Everyone watches dumb reality shows…I am sick of them…and am very sorry Chase was cancelled. It was one of the few good shows left on TV.
Just got caught up ON DEMAND watching some episodes I missed. I love this show, one of my favorites. Hate most reality shows and sick of them taking up the air time of all the great shows. Awesome cast, great stories….sad to see it go!!!
Chase is one of the best shows on tv. I will no longer watch anything on this tv station. What is wrong with you people cancel all the good shows and keep on the stupid ones that make no sense.
I am tired of this situation, i really loved the show… but i wont see it anymore.. i am very dissapointed… Shame on you NBC!
I´m so sorry that i´m not going to be able to follow Annie and her coworkers.
The seriers startade out a little slow, with Annie not so likeble but then it picked up and only got better and better. I think it´s a great show and i would have followed it every week.
Shame on you NBC!
I agree with the previous comments. I thinked this was a very good show. I am amazed at all the immoral trash comedies that go on for many seasons while a solid show like this gets cancelled after just one season. I do not watch tv for reality. Reality bites so I like a little escape.
cancel the good shows we have to watch shows about people losing weight
It figures they go and cancel another good show. Every tv newtork does the same crap they get rid of the action packed entertaining stuff and replace it with something stupid like Jersey Shore or My sister slept with my uncle and had his baby drama crap. I hate tv now the only shows I really watch are. NCIS & NCIS: LA, Hawaii 5-0, Nikkita, Supernatural, Law & Order SVU, CSI – NY, CSI-Miami, & CSI. Which they are also talking about ending Miami & New York but renewing the original CSI which already lost alot of followers after Grissom… Read more »
Im so tired of cancled shows from these networks they always kill good ones were sick of seeing reality tv noone cares about them im done with your channel hell ild rather watch disc or amc at this point
That is it for me. Other than Harry’s Law, I’m done with NBC. You people try to cram Minute to Win It down our throats when it is one of the worst shows ever. You can keep your reality and game shows. I’ll watch CBS where they have wonderful dramas like all three CSI’s.
