After an unsuccessful run on Monday and Wednesday nights, NBC pulled Chase from the primetime schedule in January. It was the latest bit of bad news for fans of the show. After giving the series a full season order for 22 installments in October, NBC cut the series back to 18 episodes in December. By the time it was pulled, only 13 episodes had aired and they averaged a very poor 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 5.26 million viewers.
Though the peacock network has not officially cancelled Chase, it’s impossible to imagine that they’d renew it for a second season with such poor ratings. Still, there is some good news on the horizon.
NBC has decided to burn off the remaining five installments on Saturday nights at 8pm, beginning April 23rd. Here’s the network description for episodes 14 and 15:
“FATHER FIGURE” — A ROGUE COP PREYS ON VULNERABLE VICTIMS AND ATTEMPTS TO OUTWIT THE U.S. MARSHALS –ERIC MABIUS (“UGLY BETTY”) GUEST STARS–A corrupt police officer, Justin Tate (guest star Eric Mabius), preys on single mothers in an attempt to get close to their young daughters. The U.S. Marshals work to stay two steps ahead of Tate, even casting U.S. Marshal Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as a ploy to lure him in. The case brings up raw emotions for Daisy (Rose Rollins) while Luke (Jesse Metcalfe) is involved in an internal investigation that could potentially indict Jimmy (Cole Hauser) and Marco (Amaury Nolasco).
“SEVEN YEARS” — THE U.S. MARSHALS TRAIL A PRISON ESCAPEE SEEKING REVENGE– The U.S. Marshals hunt for prison escapee David Bottner (guest star Jason Butler Harner) who launches his own desperate search for evidence of his innocence. He leads Annie (Kelli Giddish) and Jimmy (Cole Hauser) through the horrific events that sealed his seven-year jail sentence, resulting in a twisted outcome. Reeling from a previous emotional case, Daisy (Rose Rollins) unearths a hidden vice, which lands her in some trouble she might not be able to recover from. Also starring: Jesse Metcalfe (Luke Watson) and Amaury Nolasco (Marco Martinez)
Though NBC hasn’t released a schedule that far in advance, it looks like the finale will air on May 21st. NBC will hold their upfront meeting for advertisers on May 16th and announce their upcoming schedule. We’ll know for sure that Chase has been cancelled before or by that date.
What do you think? Are you glad to see Chase is returning, even for just a handful of episodes? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on?

I totally agree with you all. I love Chase and was gutted when it stopped. I live in Canada and didn’t know it was back on for the last few episodes. NEEDS promoted. If you don’t advertise it, how can we watch it!!! We need to know when and where it’s airing so we can support it!
I love this show! Great action and good character development. I am sorry I didn’t know they were burning off shows on Saturdays. I would have watched. But I will be able to catch a couple of them now that I know.
Chase is a great show…who better than Jerry Bruckheimer to keep great shows on TV. Maybe they should invest in some better writers instead of taking the easy way out and canceling it.
Not big on female leads but this gal hit’s it out of the park. Unlike most cop shows shot in big cities which are all alike it’s refreshing like Memphis Blues and Justified to see a different part of Americana. Terrific plots and likeable cast, give Chase another shot, promote it and give it a time slot where it has a chance.
Love Chase, great characters, good action. I dont understand why this series hasnt caught on. Would be a great cable show USA; TNT.
I hope CHASE is not cancelled. I really like the show and the cast. Save me from the never-ending supply of reality shows which in many cases are just ridiculous. I also record alot of my shows, so it sucks that these viewers aren’t counted. Promote the show, and give it a chance to develop an audience. Do you know that MASH and ALL IN THE FAMILY would never have made it past the first season if they weren’t given a chance to build an audience during summer repeats?
Yes, because it gives me something to watch on the dullest night of television.
I liked the show. Though it’s another cop show having a female lead is refreshing. We get to see each characters vulnerabilities as in real life. Hope the show is renewed.
I love the show Chase. Please do not cancel the show!
It will catch on. Saturday is re-runs and mostly boring tv.
Chase will have the chance to reach more viewers and most of
us are over the re-runs and Chase should be given a chance,
because like re-runs I am tired of watching new shows go so quickly.
I just get into a show and then it’s gone.
The ratings are NOT correct anyway, since the DVR RECORDINGS
ARE NOT COUNTED. Many of us record our shows, and watch later.
KEEP CHASE ALIVE AND ON THE AIR!!
I agree re: promotion – I missed the CHASE reurn, just saw last night’s episode by chance.
Love the series – hope it survives.
I’m in Canada, anyone know how the get missed episodes?
I am so sad to hear they are wantng to cancell CHASE ! This is a show that hs been missing from TV ! The cast is fresh and new! Please don’t cancel!! Give CHASE another shot!
If it’s only 1 or 6 shows that will be on, I will be watching them. I don’t care whose fault it is but those brain dead reality show junkies have messed it up for the rest of us. I find it extreemly sad that the I.Q. level of society has fell to this!
I would have to agree with almost everyone here! How do you expect people to watch a show that has no promos. You cannot expect to sell a product that is never advertised! I mean come on people that is just common sense. CHase is a GREAT show!!!!!!!
I think they shouldn’t cancel the show, So what going to happen Cole Hauser, is he going to make a movie, I miss him.
chase is an awesome show! i agree with the other viewers that nbc needs to show trailers of the show. why air the show if your not going to promote it. just another example of big broadcasters wasting money and the viewers time. without us viewers where would the networks be.they DONOT need to air it against american idol, but we do have dvrs’ now.please listen to your viewers nbc we want to keep the show CHASE!
