Hallmark Channel announces it has renewed the network’s hit, original series “Chesapeake Shores” for a fourth season. Airing on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, “Chesapeake Shores” was one of Hallmark Channel’s most-watched original series and joins the network’s other primetime scripted shows as a top five-rated series on Sunday nights. Production on six episodes for season four is scheduled to commence this year for a season four premiere Summer 2019. The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Networks’ bi-annual Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.
“Viewers have found a home in their hearts for ‘Chesapeake Shores’ and have consistently made it a top performing show year-after-year,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “We look forward to further exploring the show’s heartfelt and compelling storylines as characters navigate the complexities of life and love,” Vicary concluded.
Based on the novels of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe (“Dallas”), Meghan Ory (“Once Upon a Time”), Golden Globe(R) nominee Treat Williams (“Everwood,” Hair), Academy Award(R) nominee Diane Ladd (Wild at Heart), Barbara Niven (“Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”), Laci J. Mailey (“Falling Skies”), Emilie Ullerup (“Sanctuary”), Brendan Penny (“Motive”) and Andrew Francis (“Final Destination 3”).
The multi-generational family drama “Chesapeake Shores” follows Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to two daughters, as she adjusts to life back in her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Abby now balances a budding relationship with her former high school sweetheart, Trace (Metcalfe), working for a firm that does business with her uncompromising father Mick (Williams) and raising her children. Returning to her hometown means engaging in the lives of her siblings: Jess (Mailey) a free-spirit trying to succeed as a bed and breakfast owner; Bree (Ullerup), a playwright who buys a bookstore in Chesapeake Shores after moving back home from Chicago; Kevin (Penny), a soldier adjusting to civilian life and new romance; and Connor (Francis), a new lawyer establishing his professional career. Having returned to Chesapeake Shores shortly after Abby, the O’Brien’s once-estranged mother Megan (Niven) strives to reestablish relationships with Abby and her siblings, though the O’Brien clan primarily looks to its wise grandmother Nell (Ladd) for guidance.

My husband and I are disappointed that Season 4 will only have 6 episodes. We don’t just watch it, we look forward to it. Our only disappointment with the show has been that it wasn’t truly filmed on the Chesapeake Bay, and that’s only because we have a home on the Chesapeake Bay. Hope the stories continue for many seasons.
If the show is a hit for the network and one of their top performers, then why are you cutting it back, possibly canceling it after this season? Doesn’t make sense. This season should be the normal 10 episodes and should definitely not be the last. Look forward to it every summer.
definately should have season 4 and more, one can learn alot about relationships the give and take. So when will season 4 be happening here in South |Africa
I feel season 4 should not be the end of the show due to how we can all relate to the stories of the family and their loved ones so please keep the show going. I hope Trace finds his way back to Abby due to the decision he made he doesn’t look happy on tour so please let them get back together during season 4 and please give us more seasons afterwards.
I think Chesapeake Shores is wonderful. I’ve read the books and am happy the show script has stayed aligned to the book script. It’s fun to watch the characters develop and the relationships within and out of the family evolve. It would be a SHAME to take such a clean family drama off the air. I’m happy it’s coming back for Season 4. I hope there is a 5!
Yes, I have listened to Chesapeake Shires in audio and loved then. I am so glad Season 4 is coming back. The enjoy the characters and family they touch on relatable subjects.
This is truly one of the best family stories and real daily experiences everyone can identify with. I will truly be disappointed if this series doesn’t keep going. You have a very devoted family to this series. It’s one we can all watch and enjoy. The artist All own their individual character. Marvelous series.
Please. please. Please. Keep this wonderful show going. It is such a captivating show. I love the family and each ones story. There are so few really great series on TV but this one is a true winner… I hope it will continue for years to come. You will definitely have me as a fan as long as it continues on.

I am in love with this show and this family. Its my de stress show. I find inspiration and satisfaction. I am from India and I totally am able to relate with each character. This show shudnt end. It shud continue the life journey of these characters. Love it.
