Production on 10 episodes for season two is scheduled to commence this Spring for a Summer 2017 premiere. The announcement was made today to a semi-annual gathering of the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, CA.
“Viewers have fallen in love with the O’Briens and their heartfelt and compelling narratives as they navigate through life, love, relationships and career decisions,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “We look forward to continuing the multi-generational family storylines and journeys that people of all ages can enjoy and relate to, which makes ‘Chesapeake Shores’ the appropriate fit for the quality family entertainment we provide.”
The multi-generational family drama of “Chesapeake Shores” follows Abby O’Brien (Meghan Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother of two young daughters (Kayden and Abbie Magnuson), who makes a trip from New York City to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Her visit home brings Abby face to face with her past, including her high school sweetheart Trace (Jesse Metcalfe), her uncompromising father Mick (Treat Williams) and her esteemed grandmother Nell (Diane Ladd). Abby realizes the toll her career has taken on her ability to be a hands-on mother to her daughters, and considers a permanent move to Chesapeake Shores. Adding to the family drama is the return to Chesapeake Shores of her mother Megan (Barbara Niven), who left the family years ago and is still estranged from some of her adult children. Rounding out the O’Brien clan are Abby’s siblings Jess (Laci Mailey), who is struggling to find her calling; Bree (Emilie Ullerup), a playwright in Chicago whose career and love life have stalled; Kevin (Brendan Penny) a soldier whose military career causes his family constant worry and Conor (Andrew Francis), a law school graduate who lives in New York City and comes back to the family home for the summer.

What do you think? Do you like the Chesapeake Shores TV show on Hallmark? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a second season or, do you think it should have been cancelled instead?
I love Chesapeake Shores and cannot wait for it to come on Sunday nights. Please produce more episodes and keep them coming on.
I love this series!!!❤ my 8 year old daughter and I like to watch it. I hope there is a season 3. I like the story behind it.
I so loved the show Chesapeake Shores! I was so disappointed to learn it has been cancelled. Is there no chance for more seasons? Why was it cancelled?
Awesome show I love it!!!!
Love it, love it, love it. I have watched season1 three times.
I love the show. Wished I had got to see last seasons. Can’t wait for Sunday to get here. Thanks for a great show. Wished it was on everyday.
I think it is a very slow boring show and not as good as most Hallmark shows. I just can’t get into the story line, it’s too cheesy. I just don’t want to hear Jesse sing either, snooze time. Glad season 2 is almost over, I just can’t see anymore. Normally I like Hallmark shows but not this one.
A real life look at what a real family is and does.(Or should be).If you are not watching this show then you are missing out. I will continue to watch and hope for many more episodes.
Really love the Chesapeake Shores Series, and I want to see more seasons. Please don’t cancel this show! I wish that each season had more episodes. It’s a great experience to see the book series, which I read a couple of years ago, come to life on the screen. Keep it going please!!!
Please do not cancel Chesapeake shores . Read the series and is wonderful to experiance the series with the wonderfully selected characters. Brie, Mick and jess are just as I imagined when I read the series
What? They changed everything about them all ! This series is nothing like the books!Bree ran a flower shop and had a community theater and strong personality. Jess was married to David who was a psychiatrist not a freaking cook! And Mick was a giant of a man! And don’t get me started on Trace boy oh boy was that what really turned me off!!
Amazing show!! We need a season 3 and 4,5,6,7 and so on. What else can you say other then….. Will Trace and Abby get married please. Will Abby’s oldest daughter really be Trace’s and no one knew…yes please
Read the series so much better and Abbie’s girls were twins really! After they get married they have another child together.
Please do not make another mistake like you did with Cedar Cove. That also was a great show. Please please please do not remove Chesapeake Shores. The best show and so lovely. You should not just go & take off a show just cause do not care for it. Majority love your shows. Please I beg you. Do not make another mistake.
Maybe the same thing it went too far away from the story from the book series. If you never read them you might appreciate the story more but I had read both and love them dearly. Characters were left out or changed so much that it angered me to the point I could not watch any more.
All the way from South Africa; I love this show! Pse don’t cancell this series!!!! Pse continue producing good solid family drama with a taste of everything: comedy, love, family values, morals, emotions…Its wonderful amid some chaotic and often tasteless productions on other channels. At last something worthwhile to watch.
I just started watching Chesapeake Shores. Binge watched season 1 and currently watching weekly season 2 episodes. It is an upbeat feel good show which reminds me of growing up on the east coast in Connecticut and Virginia ☺
Just found Chesapeake Shores 3 days ago and watched all of season 1 and 2 then we watched the preview for season 2. Absolutely love the show. Feels like home. Please continue with season 3 and 4-5-6 etc. If the writers keep going the way they are and it doesn’t become like a soap opera we will watch it forever. Thank you,
Deb
