NBC is understandably still hot for Dick Wolf’s Chicago Fire series. The peacock network has renewed the Wednesday night series for an eighth season. It will air as part of the 2019-20 broadcast season and will likely return in the fall.
An NBC action drama, Chicago Fire stars Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minoso, Yuri Sardarov, Christian Stolte, Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, and Annie Illonzeh. The series follows the personal lives and work lives of the Chicago paramedics and firefighters working on Engine 51, Truck 81, Ambulance, and Battalion 25. No occupation is more stressful or dangerous, yet so rewarding and exhilarating. These courageous men and women forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. As part of the Chicago franchise, this series also features crossovers with Chicago Med and Chicago PD.
The seventh season of Chicago Fire is averaging a 1.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.14 million viewers. Compared to season six, that’s up by 16% and 36%, respectively. These days, a show that’s up in the live+ same day ratings is a rare thing.
The announcement was made by Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We remain in awe of the job Dick Wolf, our producers, casts and crews do in creating some of the most compelling television today,” Katz and Pakosta said. “The Chicago franchise is a lynchpin of our schedule and we’re thrilled that audiences have embraced our Wednesdays with such incredible passion for these shows and characters.”
Today, NBC also renewed Chicago Med for a fifth season and renewed Chicago PD for a seventh season.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Fire TV show? Will you be watching season eight on NBC?
Chicago PD and Fire are 2 of the best shows on TV – have been watching a while and we look forward to the new seasons – old episodes are a great filler when there isn’t much else to watch … the cast fit their characters so well it easy to relate to them
LOVE the 3 Chicago shows (Med, Fire, PD)!!!!! This is TV at it’s best. Kudos to the writers and the wonderful actors. We never miss an episode, never schedule any activity on Wednesday nights. Please never cancel these shows!!! Thank you so much.
I think Chicago fire is one of the best series I’ve ever watched. I hope in season 8, everything turns out to be perfect as always, thank you so much for filming this.
I’m an older retired Fire Brigade officer from Lancashire, England. who served at several fire stations covering lots of different risks. Although fire-fighting methods are somewhat different I have been to lots of those shown on Chicago Fire. Just watched the episode where Chief Boden says “no more ice cream” after being told 51 may be closed. As a young fireman we got caught parked up eating ice cream by a senior officer, we were in a heap of trouble ha ha ha.
Absolutely will watch. To visualize what firefighters have to face each day you have to admire them for their dedication.
Definitely,Chicago Fire is my favorite show, I love Jesse Spencer and Kinney Taylor and the whole cast is Awesome!!!
awesome tv
| really love all the Chicago Series. They must continue and overlaps are great.
Really enjoy all 3 Chicago Programs although I have slacked off on Chicago Med after I was offended when they took GOD’s name in vain recently! There is NO reason to use offensive language like that!
I absolutely love CFire. The acting is so surreal. The Captain and all players make Wednesday Nights worth staying in for with no invited company. Thank you for keeping Chicago Fire. I truly love all 3 of The. Chicago Trio they each compliment the other.
Love all three Chicago dramas. So glad they are all being renewed.
