A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think this one didn’t catch on?

I’m truly disappointed that Suspect Behaviors didn’t return for more seasons. I didn’t even know it was playing on tv. I found it on Netflix by watching the original Criminal Minds. I absolutely love both series. I’m so upset the first season ended on “to be continued” right in the middle of a nail biter!
Very crazy to end a series the way it did..with a “to be continued “… We at least need to know what happened to the agent that was kidnapped..
I know, right! I’m dying to see what would come next and there isn’t a next! Why would they do that?!
I just started watching this on ION TV. It’s OK. This show was cancelled due to poor ratings. It probably could have been fixed. They would have had to get rid of both the Penelope and Beth characters. A lot of people like Penelope but one show with her is enough. I personally find her to be irritating. Janeane Garofalo is a decent actress but she is so hated personally that I can’t believe CBS put her on a show. It was doomed as soon as they put her in it.
BRING IT BACK!!!!!!
This is one of the best show’s ever! Sadly it was cancelled.
Return the show to TV.
Please bring this show back I just started watching this show yesterday and finished it today and I loved only to find out it’s canceled. What’s the point of ending a show without answering the cliff hanger and having a bunch of people with unanswered questions.
This is a disgrace that CBS isn’t continuing CMSB!!! The show is better than 50% of what’s on TV these days. Please bring us season 2-3-& more!!! Suits decide & we watch so let’s have the people who watch decide!! I want to see more, period!! Thanks if you suites wake up, if not get a new job because you blew this one very badly!! Forest Whitaker is Great & the rest of the cast as well. I really enjoy the Brit, Matt Ryan & his interactions, it adds a unique aspect. Rethinking at CBS is a Good Idea, please… Read more »
I really liked this show CNSB, & 5 stars to Forest Whitaker!! Also like the rest of the cast & the Brit Matt Ryan for a different look & take. There are many shows to watch & 1/2 of them are not as good as this show.
Wake up CBS & put CMSB BACK ON, PLEASE!!!
i cant believe it that there is no 2nd season.i just finished watching CMSH LAST EPISODE ;DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS and now i wont beable to know what happened ..please ya’ll got to bring back part 2 to the death by a thousand cuts…..makes me mad when they end a show like that.. thanks
I have watched a few episodes of CMSB but sadly it’s not comparable to CM at all…CM got more interesting, solid characters with their lives intertwined with the story line if you follow the series which I do. Love the quotes !!! And the psychoanalysis with the right amount of action books me up. I try to find that with CMSB but the character seem to be just reading their lines-no fluidity or impact that hooks me up, I turn off the telly before the ending . Not as par as CM for me
You spent too much time comparing the original show with this show. In reality it never had a chance in your mind because you were already use to the original series. It took me a few episodes to get use to new characters and the new storyline, but I absolutely LOVED it by about the fourth episode. Up until then I couldn’t get use to the characters being different.
I watched the spinoff after i finished criminal minds on netflix! So i just finished the last episode and cant believe it THEY CANT LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT! Please consider atleast one more episode to close off last season…
I would definitely watch Season 2 & so on!!! Please consider bringing it back!!!
They can’t do this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when the very last episode ended with “To be continued.” Who got shot?!?!?!?!?!!? I mean seriously!!!!
How can you end a show like that bring the show back i want to watch season 2 please
I was extremely upset when the show was cancelled. Shows that are a waste of space like Big Bang Theory stay on. It’s stupid and I guess very young like it. I think bringing the show back would be wonderful along with any other spin-offs. I’ve always have enjoyed FBI shows along with any law shows since I was a kid. I watch comedies as well.
