A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think this one didn’t catch on?

I am said it came to an end. the only reason I think this one has not take off the characters seem more serious, where’s in Criminal Minds the characters are more up beat, all have their issues but they have a funny side to them. I personally enjoyed both.
Forest Whitaker is so enjoyable to watch. Love his voice & acting
I really enjoyed watching Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. What is really disappointing, is how the 1st season ended with: “To be continued.” Are you kidding me?! Can’t the episode end without leaving us in suspense!
I like Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior better than the original Criminal Minds. Canceling it was a huge mistake. HUGE.
Please!!!!!!!
bring back Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
furious just finished season 1 to find out I’m not going to find out what happened
I think if you are going to cancel a series don’t leave off with a continuation. The reruns that are being played should omit S1 E13 because there isn’t an end. Just play S1 E1 through S1 E12 and that way people aren’t being kept waiting for the completion/ continuation to the prior.
I didn’t care for the show when it first was on and only watched the first episode but now that it is showing the reruns on ION TV I really like it and was so disappointed that it said to be continued on the final episode and left everybody hanging who got shot. That is just cruel.
I totally agree. I have been watching on USA network and went to Netflix to see the episode after S1 E13 and was so very disappointed to see there was none. What an awful way to keep everyone hanging…and then to find out there will not be any….EVEN WORSE!!!
If you waned to cancel the series the least you could have done was shown the second part of the last episode of season one. There were obviously a few million people waiting to see that part. You people re that wrapped up in dollar sigs you forget it is the people that put you where you are and when you pull crap like this you let these people know in no uncertain terms that they mean nothing to you except viewing fodder. There will come a time when this blows up in your faces because people have long memories… Read more »
MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bring it back!!!!!!
I personally prefer the regular criminal minds a rating 1-10 i wud give this show a 3 i think the the regular one was really good
I liked the fact that the leader of the Red Cell was a strong, compassionate, very intelligent, not-at all-handsome Black man, but with the level of racism so bad in this country, I can see why it lost viewers, despite the excellence of the stories. ((I sure hope my revealing my opinion of the deep racism in the USA, despite so many unconciously racist white people thinking the problem of racism is over now. is not concidered a “personal attack.” )) I, the writer of this note, am white, by the way.
I loved this show. The cast was great. They should have been given another season. I believe it would have ended up on top. I’m really upset it was canceled.
Seriously?! WE WANT IT BACK!!!!!
Yes, Colin. You said it!
