A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.

I think it’s a real shame that this series is not going to continue, as I consider it brilliant!
It had its moments but what was distracting is the color timing. Primary colors are overdone, distracting the storyline. Whitaker is a great actor, he needs to share the spotlight with the others. Too much drama in analyzing. Overall the show is good just tweaking on the color and its clarity. Bad colorist causes us to focus on it rather than the plot.

OK what’s up with the false advertising? You say to be continued and then nothing? You make an awesome show with such stellar actors as Forest Whitaker, and then you take it away for me? Please, please, please, bring back CMSB. I truly believe that CMSB is far better than original CM and I will buy many more seasons, please just bring it back!
This needs another season you cannot end it like that saying to be continued and then not continuing it I personally have enjoyed all 13 episodes and want to see it back on the screen.
Please do another season or at least another episode telling us what happened
just change the casts, make it as solid as the team in CM and make the second plus season please.
It should have a finale instead of ending with that cliff hanger. That is wrong to mess around with the audience like that.
If they aren’t going to have a season 2….sadness…they should at least have a final episode to wrap it up instead of leaving us like that.
How are we going to know what happened then I feel I have wasted my time now gutted
Does anyone remember what NCIS was a spin-off from??? I am intersted to see what comes from a CM spin-off since I have been watching all these shows from the start. I also don’t think CM:SB was on the air enough to make a informed decision.

I really want to see more episodes of this. I didn’t even know it existed until it was over. Plus, you can’t just leave us fans with a cliff hanger like this one. It’s not fair to us who love the series.

I agree. Just found season 1, was left with a cliff hanger, and couldn’t find the next season. Now I know why.
I know just now watched it and very upset the way we got left hanging like that
hated to see it end, didn’t even know it existed til end of season, neither did most of the people I know. I think that is why it didn’t take off, and so do most folks I’ve talked too. Definitely should be brought back, when we record fav shows, we ads about new programs, I also think that contributes to lower viewer numbers.
Come back…. Don’t end with a bang… That sucks… we want more
