A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.

No, this is wrong on so many levels not to mention a slap in the face to the great actors that portrayed the agents. What kind of fools are you to think that people didn’t like it? Based on what? And the last episode on season 1 still needs to be dealt with! What a shame. Too bad I’m not running things…if I were a network official I would have at least allowed a season 2 with no cliffhanger in case I still thought the show wouldn’t make it.
How can you leave it at a cliff hanger and not do a season 2…. brilliant show but very disappointed that the finale was so good and to find we won’t find out who got shot!!!!

They did not advertise it enough. Had I known about it….I would have watched faithfully.
I hate it that the show was cut. I just watched the season finale and I want to know who was shot! You left us dangling!
I have a bloblem with the show being cut. If the show was in trouble why look,for the answer after it was cut? It should have been evaluated and fixed before time got that far on and then cut. To late when it’s gone. Forrest Whitaker was playing a leader with great team leading skills and compassion for his team and story line victims. We need more shows that show parents, teachers, bosses, as positive leaders instead of bullies. EXAMPLES. That have people of authority in POSITIVE thinking and behavior. So sorry to hear that your cancelling this show . I think that criminal minds suspect Behaviour show is awesome and so are the cast .we need an ending to the story please .Its so wrong .!!!!!!

At LEAST have a follow-up finale to close the loopholes! What a waste of my time. Watched it regularly before house chores & I think the cliffhanger ending was absolutely WRONG! Should have at least finished the storyline. MANY shows that end have a massive viewing for final show….case in point: final episode of M*A*S*H!
I think it messed up the way cmsb ended it said to be continued and then nothing that no way to leave people hanging

Just discoverer we will not get the second half of A thousand cuts. This is not good. I have enjoyed the series here in England. Why cancell a show after selling it abroad?
