Does Netflix have a new Prince Philip? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Bettany may replace Matt Smith for season three of The Crown.
The period drama explores the private life of Queen Elizabeth II. Season two stars Claire Foy, Matt Smith, John Lithgow, Victoria Hamilton, Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby, and Dame Eileen Atkins.
As reported earlier, season three of The Crown will feature a new cast, which includes Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth. Per THR, Paul Bettany is nearing a deal to take over Smith’s role as Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip.
Netflix has yet to confirm the reports.

I watch The Crown and thoroughly enjoy it. Why are you changing anything? I love the present cast! I think Clare Foy is perfect as Elizabeth and Matt Smith make a very good Phillip!
