Did you miss Day Break on ABC last night? If so, you’re certainly not alone. We’ve been innundated with emails and traffic from people looking for details on what’s happened to the Taye Diggs series.
For those who don’t know, Day Break has been pulled from primetime by ABC after just six episodes due to low ratings. The on-going storyline is hardly resolved with seven unaired episodes left in the season. ABC has said they will post episodes (one per week) on their website but many people don’t have a powerful enough computer, can’t access the Internet long enough to watch, don’t have a fast Internet connection or, for many other reasons, simply can’t view the episodes. In short, millions of people who could have seen future episodes on free network television, will never see this excellent series — and we think the decision-makers should know.
So, we’re inviting you to sign a petition that asks the network and the production companies (Gross Entertainment and Touchstone Television) to release the series so that more people can see it — to return the series to network TV or at the least, to release it on DVD. With enough interest, there could even be a second season or a movie.
Let your friends, neighbors and co-workers know — anyone who misses Day Break — where they can find this petition. Naturally, the more names are collected, the better.

We, the undersigned have enjoyed much of your programming, particularly the outstanding Day Break series. We have enjoyed the Taye Diggs series each week and are dismayed that it has been pulled from the primetime schedule.
We believe that the ratings have not accurately shown the show’s popularity for success. After just six episodes, we believe that Day Break was not given enough time to fully establish a potentially huge audience. Please remember that many very popular shows like MASH, 24 and Cheers were not immediate hits.
We understand that ABC is posting the remaining episodes online but, for a variety of reasons, millions of people are not able to see these episodes — resulting in lost viewership for you and disappointment and frustration for them.
We respectfully request that you return Day Break to network television and to consider continuing production of further episodes or even a film. At the very least, we ask that you make the existing episodes available to a wider audience via a DVD release.

Daybreak is a superb show and although making a second season may prove difficult considering the day was resolved, there will always be room for a new story and a new day to repeat.
This is some of the best television I have watched in recent years, at least since the first two seasons of 24.
Really good show – would support more seasons if they were available.

A year after it’s cancellation and the show still has a fanship pleading its return … maybe you at ABC will notice this? I can’t see how a show like ‘Cavemen’ is still airing, yet ‘Day Break’ didn’t make the grade. As I recall, over 3.1 million viewers were tuning in with me to watch ‘Day Break’ unfold. With all the reality shows you take off a program that has some meat to it. This is like not giving 24 a chance to take or even Heroes.
Please bring Daybreak. It was a very exciting movie quality show.Or put it online. I loved Taye Diggs in this show.

GOOD NEWS,GOOD NEWS….DAYBREAK IS BACK!!!!! TV ONE has picked up the series. Check your local listings. According to some reports I found on line, the show should make its debut on TV one soon!!!!!

If the “Nielson (Nielsen?) Ratings” are how networks judge a shows popularity then I believe it’s time to Re-think how they learn what’s TRULY LIKED by ALL of the viewers. It seems that all of us who watched DAYBREAK were left out of the voting considerations. That was one of the BEST and TRULY ORIGINAL shows to come around in a very long time. This is the best series that nobody ever watched – this really, REALLY needs to be released on DVD. This show is SO much better when multiple episodes are watched back-to-back, I think it would have made a better miniseries broadcast over a sequential number of days, and this is why I think it would be so ideal for a DVD release. Hopefully ABC will re-run this during prime time slots over the course of the “dry season” that the writer’s strike is creating – that way viewers would have new content to watch, and ABC would have a “new”… Read more »

Day Break was one of the most exciting shows I’ve ever seen. I just watched the series via internet piracy… Now I want to buy it. Let’s have a DVD!
