Let’s not fool ourselves. The Deception TV show has been cancelled by ABC after just one season. The mid-season replacement made its debut on March 11, 2018, but even smoke and mirrors couldn’t disguise its lackluster Nielsen ratings performance.
An ABC crime drama from creator Chris Fedak, Deception stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as illusionist Cameron Black, with Ilfenesh Hadera, Lenora Crichlow, Amaury Nolasco, Justin Chon, Laila Robins, and Vinnie Jones. Cameron is rocketing to the top, when scandal derails his show and his twin’s life. Now, this magician uses his tradecraft to help the Feds apprehend some of the most elusive criminals in the world and hopes to prove his brother, Jonathan (Cutmore-Scott), is an innocent man.
Jack Cutmore-Scott is an appealing actor. So far though, it seems he hasn’t found just the right vehicle. This is his second series in as many years not to survive past its freshman outing. Fox cancelled his comedy, Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life after just one season in 2016.

In total, there were four single-season dramas on the Alphabet’s chopping block today: Marvel’s Inhumans, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, The Crossing, and Deception.
Variety has confirmed the Deception cancellation.

I wish this show was not cancelled. My family and I loved the show and watched it together as a family. I hope another network picks up the show.
I am disappointed Deception was canceled the show was different I liked it. The problem is some of these shows are not given a chance. It’s not a flashy show. Because of this show, and For the People I started to watch ABC network again.
I love this show why is it being canceled and why would it be shut down on a cliff hanger so many shows that have been amazing end up being cancelled why is that please renew the show

Another show that never should have been cancelled. This was an engaging entertaining show. It was family friendly and enjoyable for everyone. ABC reconsider!!

It took me an episode or two to get into it, but then I was hooked. No hocus pocus here, this was a clever show at least giving an alternative to many of the inane comedies that dominate right now. Network made a big mistake in cancelling. BRING IT BACK !!
I can’t believe they cancelled deception there are so many people disappointed they even started a save deception on Facebook and Twitter. This is one of the best shows I’ve watched this year, and now we’re all stuck wondering what happens to Cameron does he get out of jail and is Johnny really get away with changing places with Cam and is Johnny really working with the mystery woman now and will we ever actually know her name. I need these answers!
I am absolutely disappointed that this among some of my other favorite shows were cancelled. It’s sad that the shows that actually require people to possibly think outside the box, use some intelligence and at the same time enjoy the drama cannot enjoy a show of this caliber. It was fun, entertaining and thought provoking which may be too much for some while just entertaining for others which should be ideal I would assume. This is a good show. Shouldn’t be cancelled. It is different, engaging actors and lots of twists and turns. Very entertaining. More than I can say for a lot of the other most of TV.
