Is Designated Survivor coming back after all? According to CinemaBlend, the cancelled ABC TV show is producing a third season.
The political thriller stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a low-level Cabinet member who becomes President of the United States after a major attack on the capital. The cast includes Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, LaMonica Garrett, Tanner Buchanan, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.
Even though ABC cancelled Designated Survivor, it seems the show might be returning for a third season. CinemaBlend says the drama series is set to resume production in Toronto soon under the thinly veiled name The White House Project.
It’s unclear at this moment which network season three will air on if indeed the new season is happening.

i love designated survivor and would love to see it renewed. it is a very good show with a great cast and great acting.
Designated Survivor is one of the better thought out, written, acted, and produced dramas on television in many years. No show is ever “perfect”, and the premise is a little far-fetched until you reflect on all the craziness in the world today. I was so glad to see such a quality show when it first aired, and so terribly disappointed when it was cancelled. The vast majority of shows on all the networks are such poorly written, acted, and produced; often mindless garbage, that the viewership can’t seem to handle very many quality shows. Would be thrilled to have this show back. It is well written & well acted & I want to see where the Emily cliffhanger goes. We all need to see a president exhibiting empathy, brains & the concept of the greater good.

This show quickly became our favorite. We were sooo disappointed to see it end, there was still so much story to tell. Please bring it back!

One of the best shows on TV and ABC cancels it…. DOESN’T MAKE SENSE…..I never missed and episode….HOPE SOMEONE BRINGS IT BACK!!!!!
Love Designated Survivor, hoping Netflix picks it up. Looking forward to seeing 3rd season.
This is an outstanding program that has my undivided attention each week. I tape each program so I may rerun the episode to make sure that I understand each event completely. It would be a shame for a great series with such a great cast to be cut short. I’m sure that other networks would like to take on the third season and any others that may follow.
