Sigourney Weaver is returning to the mist. The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund reports the actress will narrate the upcoming National Geographic Channel series Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist.
Weaver played Fossey in the 1988 film Gorillas in the Mist, which tells the story of Fossey’s groundbreaking gorilla research in Africa and her mysterious murder.
National Geographic Channel‘s three-part docuseries “will be a definitive biography of Fossey’s work, life, death and legacy, and will include never-before-seen footage from both National Geographic and Fossey Fund archives, a fitting endeavor for this 50th anniversary of her work,” says Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund President and CEO/Chief Scientist Dr. Tara Stoinski.
Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist is expected to air this fall.
What do you think? Have you seen Gorillas in the Mist? Will you watch the new Nat Geo docuseries?
I thought it was spectacular! I remember buying the DVD of the movie when it came out and was simply mesmerized by it. Thank you for bringing this to light all these years later. Dian would have been proud, I’m sure!
