What’s This TV Show About?
A BBC America sci-fi detective comedy, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency stars Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Jade Eshete, Hannah Marks, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Dustin Milligan, John Hannah, Amanda Walsh, Michael Eklund, Osric Chau, Viv Leacock, Zak Santiago, Tyler Labine, Izzie Steele, Alan Tudyk, Alexia Fast, Agam Darshi, and Aleks Paunovic. The cast also includes Karin Konoval, Lee Majdoub, Ajay Friese, David Allen Pearson, Christopher Russell, and Anja Savcic.
The story centers on Dirk Gently (Barnett), an eccentric time-traveling “holistic detective” and his reluctant sidekick, washed up rocker Todd Brotzman (Wood). A collection of wild and dangerous characters further infiltrate and complicate their world. In the second season, threats from the magical realm of Wendimoor are beating a path toward earth. It’s up to Dirk Gently and crew to shut them down — right after they find each other.
Season Two Ratings

Telly’s Take
Season two of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency premiered to much lower ratings than its freshman outing but they have remained pretty consistent. As long as the talent wants to continue, I suspect the series will be renewed for a third season. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. I love this show!!! Bring back Dirk, Todd and Bart!
Was looking for a worthwhile series on Netflix and this show did not disappoint.
Just like what other comments said, this is a masterpiece and binge-worthy.
Praying that something happens that will roll out and ultimately bring the show back.
This show is unique and incomparable; hopefully this show gets back sooner than
later (I’m looking at you universe). Haha
This series is an absolute masterpeice, and it was just about to get so extreme it would rival ALL the superhero shows, please even if it has to be crowdfunded bring it back for at least one final season, and as many have said, 1st season awesome, 2nd season unbelievably excellent, bad move in cancelling what may have become one of the most epic series of the 21st century, the problem is that they titled the show in such a way that it didn’t do itself credit, this is by all accounts a superhero series, not a detective series, if… Read more »
LOVE this show, maybe not for everyone but definitely a cult favorite. Don’t let this go the way of Firefly, or at least give us an epic ending! I knew it wasn’t renewed before I watched the second season but it is without a doubt the best show ever
Just stumbled upon it on netflix and gave it a try. And was happy that i watch it! Totaly binge worthy! I fell in loved with the characters and the show in an instant! Broke my heart that they canceled it hope that netflix see that there are people out there who will love it and continue the show
Disgraced writers and divergent story lines from the original writers narratives are no reasons to cancel great television story telling. I loved everything about this series, we had so much to look forward to. I hope someone breathes some fresh air into this beautiful work. well done to everyone involved.

I love Dibit
Just finished watching the entire series on Netflix and I wish so much that there was more to look forward to. It was truly binge-worthy watching that we will re-watch as long as Netflix is still showing it. At the end of season 2, it felt like the show was ready to get started with fresh new cases, so news of an upcoming 3rd (or more!) season would be incredibly happy!
Loved it-2nd was better than the first. I want a third series!
