Grimm has done very well for NBC on Friday nights and is one of their highest-rated dramas. How has Dracula been performing? Is it safe or likely to be cancelled?
Based on the classic Bram Stoker story, Dracula takes place in London. The title character (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) poses as an American entrepreneur while he seeks revenge on those who cursed him. He doesn’t count on falling in love with a woman (Jessica De Gouw) who looks like his deceased wife. Others in the cast include Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Smurfit, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.
The series debuted on October 25th to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.26 million viewers. This was a very respectable performance for a Friday airing.
Unfortunately, the ratings took a big dive in week two and then again in week three, falling to a 0.9 rating with 2.96 million.

After seven episodes, Dracula is now averaging a 1.1 in the demo and 3.46 million viewers. Unless the next few episodes see a good-size gain, the averages will keep dropping.
With ratings like these, it would seem unlikely that NBC would want to order a second season. However, the network has partnered with Sky Living on the series, decreasing their costs. Dracula started airing in the UK on Sky Living last Halloween.
It’s also worth noting that NBC renewed Hannibal last spring and that show drew even worse numbers on Thursdays.
So, essentially, Dracula’s fate could go either way. We’ll have to wait and see whether it will be cancelled or renewed for a second season.
But, what do you think? Do you like Dracula? Do you think it should be renewed or cancelled?
Love love love the series Dracula and that is saying
Something for an NBC show. They would be idiots
To cancel it..oh wait….
Keep it! Great show. They should put on a marathon to catch people up and get hooked.

This program is unique and amazing for a network show. It’s the time slot that hurts viewership. Do anything to keep it going!
Please don’t cancel, this show is creative and a great twist on an old concept the actors are exceptional bring on season 2. And let’s see where revenge, love and plot can take us
Please, do not cancel this show!
After reading previous comments, I have to say I agree with them – this is an intelligent, seductive, appropriate show for GROWN UPS who enjoy having to THINKING & put things together & say “ahhh, now I know why that happened!” The cast was phenomenal – and their ages were completely appropriate – how could a head huntsman be some 20 ‘ s – something & be as awesome as Lady Jayne. I loved how the story unfolded by me asking how & why, but the show gave it to me in the following episode that opened up those ah-ha… Read more »
I hope someone from NBC sees this: it SHOULD NOT be canceled! I have watched the show since the beginning & I think the creative team did a fantastic job keeping fans wondering what next?
I couldn’t imagine a Friday night without sending the kids to bed to crush on “Dracula”! You all have my vote. season 2 PLEASE!!
DO NOT CANCEL, PLEASE.
WE NEED MORE…
If NBC is reading these reviews. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL this incredible series. I’m rather shocked by this report on the ratings for this show being low. As everyone i have spoken with loves the series. Fantastic acting and i think Jonathan Rhys Meyers is doing an EXCELLENT job in the role of the “dark prince”. I just finished watching the season 1 finale and from what i gathered by the ending it would seem there most definitely will be a season 2. However, what leaves me in doubt about that assumption is the fact that i’m also a Sleepy… Read more »
they better not cancel it i will cry such a good show that has suspence
Please keep Dracula Jonathan Rys Myers is excellent, it is so much better than Hannible.
I love the costumes and the sets and feel the emotion of Dracula’s love. If you cannot keep the show… You need to cast Jonathan in another series.. He has the appeal of a Clark Gable and a Sean Connery. Everyone I talk to says the same thing..
He needs to be the lead.
