TV show description:
This horror/thriller series is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. It takes place in the late 19th century.
The mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has arrived in London and is posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.
He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night — a useful concept for someone who must avoid sunlight. He is aided by his loyal confidant, R.M. Renfield (Nonso Anozie).
Dracula has another reason for his travels however. He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw), a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Episode #10 — “Let There Be Light”
At long last, American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson executed a public demonstration of his miraculous electromagnetic resonator device, which promises to provide free, wireless electricity to all of London.
The demonstration was postponed after a previous attempt only a fortnight ago reportedly poisoned the surrounding neighborhood, causing children and elderly residents to become ill. Mr. Grayson insists that the poisoning was the result of sabotage, most likely by his rivals at the United Imperial Lubricant Company, although Scotland Yard has yet to find any evidence to support the claims.
This weekend’s demonstration, the second such attempt for Mr. Grayson, was to be his magnum opus, the result of years – possibly even decades – of research and construction that would revolutionize the world as we know it and put his oil industry rivals out of business entirely. What began as a day of triumph and victory ended as one of the most tragic and destructive days in London’s recent history.
At approximately 6:22 in the evening, moments after Grayson fired up his resonator to shed miraculous, wireless light on the entire district, the machine suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Grayson and his engineering team went to great lengths to evacuate the area as quickly as possible, and indeed the brave men spared many lives by doing so.
However, only five minutes after the machine was activated, a mechanical malfunction led to the largest manmade explosion in British history, centered directly in the heart of downtown London. The damage was catastrophic. At least a dozen people were killed in the explosion, and, while the numbers are still being tallied, estimates predict the number of injured persons to be in the hundreds, possibly even into the thousands.
Miraculously (and despite being in the belly of the beast itself during the explosion), Mr. Grayson managed to escape relatively unscathed, save for a few bumps and bruises. He is currently exiled in Carfax Manor and refusing to speak to the press, other than to briefly announce that he suspects foul play and sabotage to be the cause of the malfunction.
As London continues to recover from the horrific tragedy, hundreds remain missing. Most notably, Mr. Browning, a prominent member of British high society, has not been seen since the day of the explosion, despite the fact that Mr. Browning was not on site when the accident occurred. Miss Lady Jayne Wetherby is also unaccounted for, and she was last scene hailing a carriage toward the demonstration, only moments before the explosion. Also missing is Mr. Grayson’s right-hand man, Mr. Renfield, who was last seen returning to Carfax Manor on the day of the demonstration.

What do you think? Do you like the Dracula TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please give Dracula a second chance. This series was slow to start but it did not take long to keep your attention. Jonathan Ryes Meyers was mesmerizing. Great actors.
this serial cant be ending.im looking forward to S2 always.
I loved the series! I was totally shocked to see it was cancelled as I was eagerly awaiting to watch Season 2. It always left me wanting for more , not to mention he was the most attractive Dracula ever!!!!! Bring back the show!
Yes I agree . But what can we do to bring the Dracula Show Back!
Dracula is an exciting adult show with excellant writing and acting. Shows which should be canceled: Bones acting writing poor; CSI/NCIS fake show; Hell’s Kicthen & Mastercheif Jr, yelling a poor example of communication for Adults/Children/Adolescents, nothing (+) about the shows. Transfer the show to HBO/Show Time!
I was wondering when the second season was going to start so I googled it and I discovered that NBC may not renew the show. I am devastated!!! I am a die hard Dracula and Vampire movies fan, and quite frankly this series peaked my interest from the beginning. The actors, costumes, scenery and storyline were fantastic. Please bring it back. It’s a shame that a quality series would end so abruptly. I really hope another network picks it up.
The show should continue for the next (7/yrs)!
I am really disappointed it was the best show on tv. I am so sick of reality shows, Dracula was exciting and worth staying home to watch! Bring it back!
I am so sick of reality TV, Dracula is a show like no other. It was completely different from all the other shows, incredible cast, the set was amazing. I have read all kinds of books on Dracula, the real man and the fantasy, this was a new refreshing tale of Dracula. Transforming the order of the Dragon into something completely different, the whole electricity thing, basically Dracula was Tesla. Reinfield not be some nut job. They changed the story around and made it new and refreshing with a great cast to support the story line. I made a point… Read more »
The Dracula Show absolutely needs to have a second season! The problem is that NBC, in their stupidity, made a horendous decision based on the ratings war. The chances of them changing their mind is pathetically low. I hope that I am wrong. It would be great if Scy Fy or some cable station picked it up….
I agree. Still can’t get into Grimm. But it’s a hit. I find it hard to believe with everyone who has complained and commented about taking DRACULA off the air that someone at that NBC network isn’t listening! Erica is right. If it wasn’t for reality tv there would be no tv! Maybe it’s because we loved JRM in the Tudors. I watched every season several times! I have downloaded DRACULA already and watched every episode again. And I think I’m ready to watch it again! Bring it back!!! BRING IT BACK! BRING OUR SHOW BACK!!!! GGIVE OT ANOTHER CHANCE!… Read more »
I liked Dracula. It was exciting to watch. Also, I think Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a talented actor. I wanted to see how he would have reacted to his trusted companion, Renfeld’s dealth.
Bring back Dracula it was very enjoyable.
Loved this ! It was a hit with me and with watching Grimm and Dracula- made my Friday nights exciting. Just don’t understand why the network does not know what people love!!!! then leave it alone.
I agree that NBC lost a really good show, they should renew Dracula. It’s very interesting and entertaining.
Actually, I won’t be watching their network at all now. I only watched Grimm because it was on right before Dracula. Therefore, without Dracula, I am not one of their viewers.
Don’t say that because there are other great shows on NBC like: the voice, and Americas Got Talent. Don’t dis these shows
I really am tired of the kinds of shows you speak of. Dracula was refreshing and brilliant. The talent shows are a dime a dozen. It is great you like them. However, I want something to stimulate my imagination.
I really enjoyed the show. I also enjoyed seeing Jonathan Ryes Meyers as a Main character. Very disappointed to know the show has been cancelled and don’t have a second season to look forward to. That really sucks. I think the CW and ABC have the best shows now. I cannot say NBC has anything worth me wanting to watch. I guess I’ll have to stick to my shows like the Originals, Arrow, Reign and Once Upon a Time. Sorry guys, I think you just shoot yourselves in your foot.
I really liked the show and was excited that Jonathan Ryes Meyers was the main character. Very disappointed to find out that the show has been cancelled. was looking forward to the next season.
i am really upset that nbc chose to cancel this show. i was really looking forward to season 2. this is heart breaking.
