It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

Against a backdrop of entirely too many insipid reality shows, along came a really interesting show. I loved the movie, and I actually made time for this show….the fact that the ladies were so appealing helped, I admit. TV has gone way overboard with those mindless reality shows. They obviously acheive the desired viewer ratings, but that’s a sad commentary on the viewing public. I understand the business end of this all, but I’d love to see another network pick this show up and tweak it so that it becomes financially viable.
Eastwick was the best show in a long time. I looked foward to it week after week. Very disappointing!!!!!!! Replaced by Ugly Betty no less, I can’t get interested in that show to save my life!
I’m going to miss this show, it was great and I really looked forward to the plots. I’m sick of reality shows and now the only show worth watching is gone!!!!
My favorite show. Modern Family and Cougar Town got my attention because of Eastwick. Now, I don’t think I’ll be tuning in to ABC on Wednesdays anymore. Please re-consider. Maybe if you would stop preempting the program and gave it more promotion, ratings would go up.
Honestly, really liked the show, but 10pm on a Wednesday is alittle to late. I think it would have done much better in a different time spot.

I loved Eastwick. I looked forward to that show every week! It was my own special time. Now, you have canceled another good chick program. I get soooo mad every time there is finally a good woman’s program that has suspence, comedy, and a good funky plot, just like Men in Trees, Women’s Murder Club, Provedince.
Another one that some man thought a women wouldn’t like any more. Stupid!!!!! Shame on you. Do you really think all women are just too sophisticated to not watch chick programing????
I am very upset over this , it never fails, you find a show you really like and it gets canceled. this happens all the time. MY GOD!!!! can you at least give us an ending?
Completly bummed. I loved that show. All the characters were great. Very entertaining. Hopefully they will change their minds and put it back on.
I thought that the story was good and the ladys were hott. I thought it would hit big with the charmed fans and make it. But who knows if TNT picked it up i would watch it there.

Please, someone reconsider and do NOT cancel Eastwick. I agree with the survey results that site lack of promotion as the reason for a supposedly low audience. I can’t recall ever seeing a commercial or any promotion at all for the show. Those ladies are great actors and the story line is interesting. What else do you need to make a hit? I also really enjoyed Lipstick Jungle (also starring Lindsay Price) last year which was also cancelled without warning. There are entirely too many “guy” shows on the air, and not enough that we women can relate to!
I loved Lipstick Jungle too!! As I said weeks ago; everytime I find a show I LOVE it happens to be on ABC and it always “happens” to get cancelled. I’m ready to cancel ABC…..
I am right there with you! I too am sick of every really GOOD show getting cancelled! I’m so upset…I am boycotting ABC for the rest of the season! Like someone else said, why is it that only the super RIDICULOUS “reality” shows stay on F-O-R-E-V-E-R as well as the sitcoms, yet a show with a great , unique storyline doesn’t stand a chance??? ABC = Another Brilliant show Cancelled! Nice going guys…oh and in what figure of your imagination is over 4 million viewers a “small” audience???

Just saw that Eastwick wasn’t on tonight and I’m terribly disappointed. I look forward to finally having a GOOD night of TV – but now it’s only the sitcoms. Eastwick was by-far my favorite hour long show in several years. BBBBOOOOO!!!!
