It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

Loved Witches of Eastwick, can’t believe it was cancelled. Big mistake.
I’m soooo sad!! I was hoping Eastwick would be back in the fall or something and that’s why I haven’t seen it. I LOVED Wed nights. Modern Family, Cougar Town then Eastwick. It wasa funfilled and entertaining evening. 86 that Middle (a boy named Brick… really?) and bring back Eastwick, PLEASE! I truely hope another network picks it up.
I am getting so pissed at ABC. ABC used to be my top tv channel and now I am watching less and less of it. Everytime I find something good they pull it off the air which is crazy because they shows even win awards. Why pull shows off that win awaards. Used tobe that shows lasted 8-10 years and companies did what they could to make shows a success. ABC doesn’t care any more. How stupid of ABC to cancel this show its the best magic show Ive seen on ABC since BEWITCHED in the late 70;s and this had the potentional to become such a classic shame on you ABC someone does not realize this is a magical mistake to have this show cancelled what were you dummies thinking?
I thought it was one of the best new shows last season. I couldn’t wait for the next weeks show. Do they think we need a new reality show instead???? That sucks that they canceled it!!!!
ABC doesn’t read this site’s comments, so even though it helps us “vent” it isn’t doing much else!! In order to get your voices heard, you need to go to the actual ABC network site and comment there, you have to hunt around a bit, but there is a link for viewer feedback. Personally, I’d rather see the WB, Lifetime, Fox or even CBS pick it up, so I’d go there (I actually have already) and make remarks to them about what a wise decision it would be because there are thousands of viewers here as well as in the… Read more »
I thought I saw the last episode, that was aired, and I did not see them die. Has any one heard anything positive, as far as them bringing it back. I am lost, that was the only series in 10 years I watched
By the time I heard of the show and started to watch it the girls died.
They didn’t die, but ABC killed the show!!!!
Eastwick was a great show, that I could sit down and watch with my two daughters. It’s only fall back,I think was it’s time slot. The characters had such good chemistry. I think given a chance it would have done well. Jackie, “Lost” may be a bad example of them not knowing what they are doing…it went on to become one of the most watched shows of all time.
Anita, that’s my point EXACTLY. Lost had lousy reviews its first season, but they didn’t give up on it, kept it on, and it became one of the highest rated shows on television network to date!!
oh, yes. I was reading that differently then how it was meant. You’re right. I think there is more to it though. It’s strange they didn’t even let the first season run it’s course. I wonder if it was only for poor ratings or if there was some ‘behind the scenes’ controversy, that couldn’t be resolved….
To the person who said witch shows always get canceled, and used Charmed as an example. You’re so far off base! Charmed was on for eight years! Then the actors wanted to wrap it up, not at all the same thing! Eastwick didn’t even finish ONE season, they left two fully filmed episodes out!!! Jack_ _ _es!! Hi Jackie. I have tried to put a comment on ABC site but I live in the UK and you cant contact them. I did try and they sent me a reply saying I couldnt comment unless I lived in the USA!!! It was shown over here on the Hallmark channel. I have contacted them but got no reply. Its very frustrating!!!!
Shaz, It’s frustrating that they won’t take comments about the show, no matter where you’re watching it from! Don’t feel badly though, I commented on their site and they never replied to me at all, so I doubt being a US citizen amounts to any more importance than being a resident of the UK! Television decision-makers are a selfish lot, and they aren’t inclined to give anything a fair chance unless there’s enough money in it for them! Frustrating is an understatement!!
I’m sick of all the show’s out there, it seams that every time you come up with something good, it gets replaced with some crap, Eastwick would make make my day, it was a show to come home to, like Pushing Daisies that was good also, and now gone, why can’t you keep the good shows??!!
I really hope they consider cancelling the second series because i am really inloved with this movie…i can t wait to see the next episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eastwick was an awesome show, and like Arrested Development and Ugly Betty it being cancelled feels like all the powers that be (corporate and government) just want the masses to be miserable …to have to watch bullsh%t drivel instead of anything truly creative or witty. Those ladies in the cast were gorgeous to watch and funny and so was Darryl Van Horne…so funny and handsome. If it did not have good ratings it was the fault of the network. Stupid.
