Holmes and Watson will be back solving cases next season. CBS has renewed the Elementary TV show for a fourth season.
A contemporary update on the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle characters, Elementary follows eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) as they help solve crimes in New York. Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill co-star.
The series has taken a big hit in the ratings this year. The third season is averaging a 1.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.44 million viewers. That’s down by 25% in the demo and down by 15% in total viewers.
Still, it seemed a certainty that Elementary would be renewed for a fourth year. The next season’s installments will give the crime drama enough episodes for a potentially lucrative syndication package.

I still remember the 1st time i got convised by my friends to watch Elementary! What a perfect day… that actor (Jonny Lee Miller) transforming into “Sherlock Holmes”!!! I fall in love with his attitude and his ways!!! I wasnt sure about Lucy Liu in Watchon role but actually it seems like they fit to each other! I am sure that this show must go on!!!! I love elementary- I am a big Sherlock Holmes fan and Johnny Lee Miller is the next best thing to Jeremy Brett. Updated in a smart way and Lucy Liu is a great companion Watson.
This is definitely, one of the best shows on TV (not just on CBS). Outstanding writers, actors, and production (absolutely love Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller). CBS has not had a show of this quality, in a very long time. It would be a great mistake to discontinue it. I love this show, and its one of my Top 3, of all time, on CBS.
Doesn’t take a Sherlock, to decipher, that: this show deserves to be continued, as long as possible. Definitely one of CBS best written shows!!!
really enjoy the tv series Elementary. I was happy to hear that there will be a 4th season. The actors have a good connection and I find this remake on an old story refreshing. Way to go!!!

Just watched the final of episode 3. Am really enjoying this show. The brother/big sister relationship between Sherlock and Watson are so well played out by a couple of excellent actors. And the rest of the cast is beyond seller. Jonny lee miller breaks ones heart as the flawed, damaged yet trying so hard to be better and nicer Sherlock. This show is well worth waiting for; and thw cost of the box set dvds too.
