The drama follows eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) as they help solve crimes in modern-day New York. The cast also includes Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill.
Given ratings alone, a renewal for Elementary looks uncertain. Currently, season five is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 4.975 million viewers — low numbers for CBS. However, despite the poor ratings, Deadline reports a season six renewal seems likely.
First, Elementary is completely owned by CBS, making a renewal easier and more profitable for the network. Additionally, the series has lucrative off-network and SVOD deals with WGN America and Hulu Plus that bring in “as much as $3 million total per episode.”

one of my favorite shows-please keep this on the air. most of TV is trash-reality and sophmoric humor. We need more shows like this-with well written plot lines and great actors

Elementary is one of my favorite shows so I’m seriously hoping it doesn’t get cancelled. I’m actually very tired of all the cancelling of series that have great storylines, especially when what’s left are reality, sci-fi & supernatural type of series which to me are either boring or way out there. What happened to having quality shows for those of us who prefer not to watch brainless oversexed shows? Thank you for your time.
I love Elementary!! One of my favorites, for sure! I watch several crime dramas. I would also like to add that it is CBS’ fault for the declining ratings. The 10:00 pm slot on Sunday night is consistently sabotaged, being “backed” up” due to prolonged sporting events earlier in the day. I DVR it, but I often have to record up to two programs following Elementary just to make sure I have the entire Elementary recorded. Sometimes, it is almost midnight before it finishes airing. I love Elementary! I watch the reruns on Late night TV on Saturday & Sunday. I’m glad to hear it is renewing. I watch several CBS dramas. It’s one of my favs.

I love this show and how can any show succeed when u never know which sporting event will bump it an hour? do they make too much money?There are not to many shows that are intelligent.reality tv being the worst.I fear for the intelligence of america.I blame CBS for the show’s poor ratings.
Well stated. All the networks screw around with the schedules. This causes a loss in continuity. Your watching a series for X number of weeks then a message at the end of the show states: **NAME OF SHOW** will return in six weeks following XYZ. THAT’SQ8Ueq JUST CRAZY!!
I am a dedicated fan and would like to see it continue. I am tired to seeing the show play second-fiddle to any sporting event that cannot manage its time.
One of the best things on TV Johnny and Lucy’s chemistry make this work. Would like to know how Dad handles the job and if JM come back into the pic.
