TV show description:
This TV series gives a new take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle characters. It’s a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases.
Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare — a sober companion, Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). She was a successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her license three years ago.
Watson views her current job as another opportunity to help people, as well as paying a penance. However, the restless Sherlock is nothing like her previous clients. He informs her that none of her expertise as an addiction specialist applies to him and he’s devised his own post-rehab regimen — resuming his work as a police consultant in New York City.
Watson finds she has no choice but to accompany her irascible new charge on his jobs. In the end, Sherlock finds her medical background helpful, and Watson realizes she has a knack for playing investigator.
Sherlock’s police contact is Captain Tobias “Toby” Gregson (Aidan Quinn). He knows, from previously working with Scotland Yard, that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, and welcomes him as part of the team.
Episode #154 — The Last Bow
Amidst Holmes and Watson’s battle with tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach, the investigators receive word of their old enemy and Sherlock’s former love, Jamie Moriarty.
First aired: August 15, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Elementary TV series on CBS? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for season eight?
Thank you for asking.
We have really enjoyed this show. The writers do such a wonderful job keeping each episode smart and clever with action, suspense, and intrigue. The actors are excellent and the cast is superb. I would call ‘Elementary’ one of the top five scripted drama series, on television, since TV began. That’s how great it is. I hope ‘Elementary’ is on for years to come.
A Loyal Fan.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! Been watching since the first episode was aired! Please do not cancel! I watch this before Big Bang theory, before 2 broke girls, before Mom, before Madam secretary, before both criminal minds! Love the other show by the way too! Thank you for not canceling! Sherlock and Watson are the best team!
Great show – one of our favorites- substantive stories and presentation – keep it on and give it a consistent time slot – how can it get good ratings if it’s always delayed (Sunday sports) or not even aired – last Sunday!!!!
My husband and I both love this show. Please do not cancel. It is one of the best shows out there. We make a point of watching it and agree with other comments about the scheduling conflicts on Sunday. My husband commented just last night about losing the momentum of any show when not on consistently.
I really enjoy this series but I’m wondering why you have placed it on a day where any sports event will delay the show. We watched it on Thursday and had no problem scheduling it but now local stations fit it in wherever or however it can.
Love this show I’ve even bought the dvds. Cbs don’t disappoint KEEP this wonderful show. I’m quite addicted!
First, I love the show. That being said, I’m wondering why CBS doesn’t seem to show any respect for an incredibly talented and well written drama. You’re probably asking “Why do you think that”? First, the last 5 or so episodes have been hard to see due to the scheduling conflicts on Sunday nights (numerous sporting events that have exceeded the time allotted). Understandable. What I didn’t understand was that …..if you already have continuous conflicts over and over….why in the world would you add another show into the “mix”? If you needed to add another show, then that show… Read more »
This is one of the best shows on network television. Intelligent, witty, great writing of story lines and better than any other program in handling “arcs” which can be difficult to follow and tedious. Jonny Miller’s acting is so sophisticated and superb that no one holds a candle to him. Take that Cumberbatches! Lucy Liu is one of the most interesting women actors in her approach to Watson. And Adian Quinn deserves more screen time. He makes it looks so easy and natural. Wonderful ensemble. I’d like to see tighter writing as in the season with Rhys Ifans and John… Read more »
This is one show I make a point of watching. I would be happy to see its renewal for another season.
It’s a terrific show. It definitely deserves to be renewed. The network needs to publicize it much more than it does, and should be returned to Thursday nights.
Love the show. Its our Sunday go to program, right after Madam Secretary. Wish it were back on Thursdays though.
I Love this Show. I know it would do much better in the ratings if it were back on Thursday nights; but, I will keep watching it no matter what day it airs.
Love this quiet yet intelligent show that is relaxing to watch.
I hope it stays!
Elementary is a very good show that deserves to be renewed. Ithas been shuffled around from Thursday night to Sunday night and is now often bumped to a much later start time due to sports events on CBS. It’s made it difficult for viewers to keep up with it.
