What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, this new TV series is a sequel to the William Peter Blatty novel and 1973 feature film of the same name. The Exorcist follows two priests. While ambitious, Chicagoland parish priest Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) is also progressive and compassionate. On the other hand, the obsessive and abrasive Father Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) — an orphan who grew up in the Vatican — is relentless concerning his mission. Meanwhile, the Rance family finds itself caught between the two, in a horrifying case of demonic possession. The series also stars Kurt Egyiawan, Geena Davis, Alan Ruck, Brianne Howey, and Hannah Kasulka.

Telly’s Take
The Exorcist is one of FOX’s lowest rated TV series. In the show’s second week, the ratings dropped more than 34% in the key demo and over 30% in terms of audience size. The freshman psychological horror drama never rebounded. While creator Jeremy Slater has plans for season two, it seems unlikely he will get a chance to put them into action.
5/12 update: Despite low ratings, FOX renewed The Exorcist for season two. Details here.

What do you think? Were you surprised The Exorcist TV show was renewed for a second season? Would you have missed it, had FOX cancelled this series, instead?
I am waiting for the second season…. Please bring it back…
Please renew!!! Love it!!!
PLEASE renew! It is so well done, intriguing, suspensful and frightening. There is nothing that comes close on network or cable tv.
Please renew!!!
Either cancel or renew already it’s been months! What’s the hold up? I want to either keep it or take it off my DVR.
This would be one of the worse cancellations EVER. The show was just as good as The Walking Dead and that’s my favorite show. Absolutely amazing!!!!!
PLEASE don’t cancel the exorcist. I thought it was one of the BEST shows EVER!!! Great writing, make up and acting. I would be devastated if this show was canceled.
Please bring it back . I liked how it was linked to the original movie . Loved it
Please don’t cancel. Love it
Please don’t cancel this show. I absolutely love it. Its the only show I look forward to come home to. Im so tired of all the trashy reality shows you invest in. I can only take so much of peoples opinions, lives, drama, etc. Who cares?! I dont.
I just finished season one and I really hope the show gets the green light for season two. If Fox does not know what they have, take the show to HBO or somewhere else. The Exorcist Television Series is well written and what a wonderful cast!!
The Exorcist is a great show. How many doctor and lawyer shows good one woman watch!

It’s getting kind of irritating they can’t decide yet, it’s been months now. I’d like to know whether to keep it on DVR or not!
