It looks like traditional sitcoms are far from dead. Recently, Hulu shared some surprising viewing stats about their ’90s TGIF catalog, IndieWire reports.
According to Hulu, 60,000 subscribers have already watched “all 60 hours” of Boy Meets World since the ABC sitcom became available to stream in September 2017. Other TGIF favorites include Full House, Family Matters, and Step by Step.
Among Hulu‘s other popular series are Futurama and ER. Per the streaming site, some 35,000 viewers watched all 10 seasons of the former in 18 days and more than 35,000 viewers streamed all 331 episodes of the latter during the first two months it was available.
From Hulu content acquisitions VP Lisa Holme:
I love those kind of numbers, it’s why we get up in the morning. It’s comfort food. I have a friend who has an iPad velcroed to the wall of his bathroom, and every morning and every night he turns it on and watches ‘Seinfeld’ as he brushes his teeth. So we’re looking for shows that people will do that with.”
What do you think? Do you subscribe to Hulu? What shows do you stream?
